Know More about this tour

Your private tour begins with hotel pickup. Board a private vehicle with your professional driver and private tour guide , and start driving south of Lima for 31 kilometers to reach the archaeological site of Pachacamac. This place was a sacred and ceremonial place which is considered part of the Mystic Axis of the World, from the beginning of the Christian Era.

Walk around the site and learn from your knowledgeable guide about its history and how it is the major Pre-Hispanic ceremonial center on the Pacific Coast of America. It has places of pilgrimage for worshiping and consulting the oracle of Pachacamac, who was The Lord of the World. The temple is totally built in adobe (mud bricks) and you will see all its temples including Adobitos Temple, Templo with ramp, Taurichumbi Palace, Pachacamac Palace, Temple of the Sun, Philigrims Square and Acllahuasi.

After your visit, you will have some free minutes to enjoy seeing how artisans make handcrafts and, if you wish, you can buy some of them. Then, you will visit the Barranco District and on the way there, you will admire the Green Coast beaches, the Wetlands of Villa in the Chorrillos District and the views of the Pacific Ocean. At Barranco, you will take a walk and see the Bridge of the Sights, a church from the 19th century and the lookout point of Barranco which is a quiet attraction for many couples enjoying a nice view of the Pacific Ocean and other districts of Lima city.

Great private tour with an experienced and knowledgeable tour guide. We were in Lima for a couple of days before heading to Cusco so we decided to book this tour to learn a little about the history of Lima. And that we sure did. We also enjoyed exploring south of Lima. Also I would like to note, I was notified a day before confirming the hotel pickup time and they were right on time the next day. I would highly recommend this tour.

My friend and I had some extra time in Peru at the end of a business trip, and decided to book a tour of Pachacamac because it was relatively close by, and fit the amount of time we had. We found a tour done by “Peru Best Price” which had good ratings, even though the most recent rating was over a year old. That should have been a red flag for me. Our pick up from the hotel was supposed to be at 9 AM, but by 9:15 AM they had not shown or emailed to say they were going to be late, up so I contacted the company. The phone connection was poor so they contacted me on WhatsApp. I asked the driver what the problem was, and he said that they could not do the tour today because of “COVID-19 policies“ which he claimed required that you book reservations “5 days in advance.” I told him that there was nothing on the website which specified that, and that the system allowed us to select the date and time we wanted, and that I was unhappy. He then advised he was going to contact the facility, and a few minutes later wrote that he “might“ be able to get us an afternoon tour. I told the tour operator that would not fit with our schedule, and said that if we had to book 5 days in advance, why is it we would be able to do an afternoon tour, but not the morning tour that we bought, and he had no response. I told him it was very poor customer service to make me have to track him down to find out why nobody had shown up, and his response was that we could ask for a refund! My advice is to avoid this company at all costs. They will not contact you, will leave you high and dry, and then when you press them on something, their answer is that you can ask for a refund. I am sure there are better tour companies out there, and I would never use these people again. I also do not know why Viator has them listed as an available option, when it is pretty clear they have such poor customer service.

I really liked this tour. The site is very interesting, especially the museum.

The views from the top of the huaca are beautiful.

Unfortunately some of the interesting painted walls are not open to tourists so I couldn't give a better rating.

Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.

My wife and I did this tour while waiting on a group tour to arrive. We were very pleased with Carlos and the driver Mr David. Carlos spoke great English and was very knowledgeable about Peru and the history of the places we visited.

Carlos my guide met me at the hotel and we spent 3 hours touring Lima and the incredible Pachamac location. He is a senior guide with the Ministry of Tourism and was allowed to drive his vehicle within the National Park, other guides and guests had to walk a fair distance to see the Temples. We climbed the main Temple and also took me to see a convent next door from the Incas. His knowledge of the different civilizations and how they evolved allowed me to have a clearer picture of the base of the Inca Empire. I would recommend this tour highly.

On a passé un agréable moment avec notre guide qui nous a fait visiter Barranco à pied pour ensuite aller au site archéologique de Pachacamac. Carlos parlait lentement espagnol ce qui facilite la compréhension et il répondait à toutes nos questions.

My husband and I did this tour on our first day in Lima. Our guide, Jean-Paul, was so knowledgeable and gave us the history in such an interesting manner. The site is very much worth the visit- it was an amazing site and we learned so much about the history of Peru. Stopping at Barranca on the way back showed us another personality of this diverse city. I highly recommend this tour and this tour company. The guide and driver were outstanding.
