Know More about this tour

Start your day with a pickup from your centrally located Dubrovnik hotel, and then travel with your private guide to the small town of Ston on Peljesac Peninsula. As you travel, chat with your guide about the scenic south Dalmatia region and the sights that you particularly want to see. Your itinerary is flexible so if theres something you want to see more of, simply let your guide know.

After roughly an hour on the road, arrive in Ston and stretch your legs on a walking tour of the pretty coastal town. Pose for pictures by the so-called Great Wall of Croatia Stons major claim to fame and hear how it is said to be one of the worlds largest fortified city walls. The Peljesac area is rich in natural resources, with salt and wine lauded as the peninsulas biggest exports, so visit the towns old salt factory and hear tales about the pure salt harvest.

Enjoy a break for lunch in town (own expense) and then return to your minivan to continue your tour. Travel along the undulating coastline of Peljesac Peninsula and, in between gazing at the turquoise Adriatic Sea, stop at three family-run wineries to sample their wares. Plavic mali is the regions principle grape and, while your wine samples vary on each occasion, chances are that you will taste several made from the ubiquitous grape. Snacks such as artisan cheese and bread are often served alongside the wine.

If you want to learn more about southern Dalmatias cuisine, then perhaps swap one of your winery visits with a seafood-tasting session at coastal fish farm. Sample fresh local oysters or mussels while learning about the regions renowned fishing heritage.

After exploring the region and sampling its fine produce, return to your minivan and travel back to Dubrovnik. Your tour finishes with a drop-off at your Dubrovnik hotel.

  • This is a wonderful tour. Ston is definitely worth visiting and the Wine Tasting was great fun. Our guide was fantastic and very informative. I would highly recommend this tour.

  • Excellent tour and highly recommend. There were three wineries, but the best was a family owned one named Milos. Also, the visit to Ston was interesting as was our lunch at this location.

  • Wonderful trip with just the right amount on and off time with our host / driver.

  • Our tour guide Ana and driver were fantastic. They provided us with interesting factoids as we drove from one vineyard to another. Recommended a fabulous place of lunch...the BEST oysters I have ever had, bar none.

Wonderful way to spend a day.

  • Great day, lovely to see a bit more of this beautiful country. Only 4 stars as tour guide not quite as informative as perhaps she could have been. But definitely recommend going private.

  • Trip was great. Only problem is trying to bring back wine home..........

  • My wife, Evelyn, arranged this tour for my birthday, which happened to be a day when our Croatia tour had a free day. Our driver, Vlado, was experienced, capable, fluent in English and a delightful guy. It was a beautiful day and beautiful scenery. We bought a few bottles of wine which we put to good use hosting a group party for the other 12 adult members of our tour group. The wine was delicious, but our lunch was even better. We also enjoyed slurping oysters fresh from the sea at a little place Vlado took us to in mid-morning.

  • Excellent tour. Guide was well informed with driver good and careful. Wineries visited were very friendly and informative about Croatian wines and winegrowing. A very good experience.

  • We loved Olga! What a great tour - beautiful countryside, delicious wine and seafood! Highly recommend.

  • Guide Philip was the best. Really knew his stuff . Took us after the wineries to a little oyster and mussel farm by the side of the road and we had an unexpected feast! There aren't t enough stars for him
