Overview

A walking tour to discover the ancient district of Trastevere. This neighborhood is still considered today one of the authentical original areas of Rome. It became famous for food and wine and today it is a perfect place to understand the development of the city especially in the Middle Ages. Here, in fact, we will visit many important Churches created in those times with incredible decorations and mosaics. We will have the opportunity to visit a XVI Villa too, in order to enjoy the Renaissance work of Raphael, whose lover lived in this district. We can consider this district of Rome a Museum at the open air.
Some of the highlights of this Tour:
- Villa Farnesina
- Santa Maria in Trastevere
- Walking throught the characteristic roads of the district
- Santa Cecilia in Trastevere
- Crypt of Santa Cecilia in Trastevere
- Marble statues of Roman and Greek Gods

Amazing energy and great entertainment. Every time I come to Rome I do at least one tour with Rome guides and it is always incredible. They make you feel like you’re back in history

We had another wonderful tour with Daniella today. My husband and I have a very rudimentary understanding of Art history and individual artists. Daniella took the time to explain the technique of the various artists and significant aspects of various pieces. She answered all of our questions and allowed us to move at a pace that was comfortable for us. She treated us more like a family friend then a paid guide. We loved our day!

We had an awesome experience with Vincenzo walking around Trastevere and Villa Farnesina. He was so passionate and full of knowledge, we were simply bowled over by his story-telling, his enthusiasm for art, history, and architecture. You would never see Rome in the same light with Vincenzo, there is just too much going on below the layers and layers of history and buildings upon buildings upon buildings. Since my wife hired him as a private tour guide, it was awesome to go at our pace - slow and steady, taking our time with each and every detail and interesting nugget in the history of the area. He was patient and open for questions always, and waited while we snapped our pictures. We would totally hire him again the next time we come back to Rome. There's just so much to see, so much to learn, so much to understand in Italy. Absolutely love him as our guide, and you cannot go wrong hiring him as your tour guide in Roma!

Grazie.
