Relax amid enchanting scenery as your guide points out historic pagodas, Chinese-style arched bridges, tree-lined walkways, green islands and lush gardens.
Finish your cruise at Huagang (Flower Harbor) Park Wharf. A clean stream flows from Huajia Hill to join West Lake, and many flowers grow where the fresh water flows in. Stroll through part of the 54-acre (22-hectare) park to see the many varieties, including a peony garden that blooms in April, and stop at Red Carp Pond — a popular spot for viewing fish.
Continue your tour to Lingyin Temple & Feilai Peak. At the site, you'll see the ancient tree roots that rise above the ground, their branches twisting and winding up the peak. Immerse yourself in Lingyin Temple, the biggest & oldest temple of China. It's a great centre of information for those who wish to study aspects of Chinese Buddhism in detail. You'll see the palaces, pavilions and halls together with their many figures of Buddhist deities represent a splendid and unque collection of architectural and artistic cultural relics .
From the Lingyin Temple, walk along a cobblestone pathway leading to Amanfayun Village, a restored Chinese village dating back hundreds of years and situated in a remote forest of camphor and bamboo. Immerse yourself in the tranquil atmosphere of the hamlet dotted with traditional dwellings and surrounded by tea fields.
For lunch you have two options: purchase your meal at a local restaurant recommended by your guide, or head to a local tea farmer's home to prepare a meal of local delicacies such as chicken, West Lake carp, lotus root, bamboo shoots and other tasty vegetables (own expense). After lunch, continue to Meijiawu Tea Village, situated in the rural foothills of the West Lake district. Learn about the production of Xihu Longjing tea, also known as Dragon Well tea, and sip the fragrant green tea as you relax in this scenic setting.
Your final stop is Song Dynasty Imperial Street, renamed Zhongshanlu Beiduan. Walk with your guide along this road that stretches 1,310 feet (400 meters) and leads to the imperial palace of the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 960–1127). If you wish, stop at any of the snack bars that offer local delicacies and shops that sell antiques, embroidered items and silk. I love how the tour guide was able to hit the spots we wanted to see. Be aware that using credit cards are restrictive and she even helped with figuring out payments. We originally were to visit another location (west Lake), but we quickly changed & that made the experience that much better. We saw the Leifing Pagoda, Bamboo Forest, Tea Plantation, lunch near the tea place, silk museum and also a shopping stop in the Song historical area. I can’t believe we saw so much!! Such a comprehensive tour with an excellent guide.

There were three of us on this private tour and we opted for the sample itinerary. Our guide Lulu was excellent , very attentive and patient. Really enjoyed walking around West Lake , the boat ride and fish feeding at the Flower Park. We spent less time in Lingyin temple but took lots of photos of the impressive Buddha and god carvings on the mountain walls. Enjoyed a good lunch in Amanfayuen. Another highlight of the tour was a visit to a family owned tea field. The owner explained lots about the their operation and took us up the hill to look at the tea plants. The scenery was amazing. We also got the chance to sample the tea at their home. We were behind schedule by the time we arrived at the Song Dynasty Pedestrian Street. We just made a brief stay as it was close to 7pm and we planned to come back on our own the next day. Didn’t want Lulu and driver to work overtime for too long. Both Lulu and the driver were very patient and didn’t rush us. A great tour indeed.

Hangzhou is a beautiful city and a must see destination if traveling to China. It was one of my favorite experiences of our whole trip. Tommy our guide was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the day with. This tour began with a private van that was comfortable and safe. We toured the city , West Lake, The tea gardens and Buddhist temples. We had one of our best meals in China at a local home. I highly reccommend this tour.
