Know More about this tour

Start your Vienna tour with a pickup from your Vienna hotel by luxury minivan. As you travel, your guide will talk to you about Vienna and the things you want to see in the city. Choose from one of three different itineraries and if theres something you want to see more or less of, simply let your guide know! Your tour ends back at your hotel for the 3-hour tour and in the city center in the 5 and 7-hour tour.

3-Hour Tour:
Get to know the glory of Imperial Vienna – once the center of the powerful Habsburg Empire – on a route around the city’s famous Ringstrasse. Home to palatial monuments a plenty, the ring road boasts grandiose buildings like Vienna Rathaus, the city’s beautiful town hall.

Travel through Vienna’s chic Vorstadt Lanstrasse neighborhood, seeing quirky sights like Hundertwasserhaus – a funky apartment building designed by the radical Viennese designer Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Then, contrast its cutting-edge architecture with Roccoco resplendence on a visit to Schönbrunn Palace -- Vienna’s must-see site. Entrance is at your own expense but once inside, your guide will introduce you to the best of the palace’s 40 public rooms, and regale you with little-known tales of the eccentric Habsburg residents.

5-Hour Tour:
After seeing the sites of the 3-hour tour by minivan, head into Vienna’s historical center to explore by foot. On a 2-hour walking tour, your private guide will lead you through the heart of the district to see attractions like Hopfburg Imperial Palace -- where the Habsburgs ruled for centuries -- and St Peter’s Church, Vienna’s Baroque masterpiece. Explore the cobblestone lanes of the old Jewish quarter while learning about the Jewish community in the city, and then finish up with a visit to St Stephen’s Cathedral.

7-Hour Tour:
Start your day with a 2-hour walking tour of Vienna’s historical center, seeing all the sites visited on the 5-hour tour, as well as the Greek Quarter (Fleischmarkt), where you’ll stop to visit the city’s oldest church – St Rupert’s. Rest with a coffee in the prestigious Café Demel on Graben Street, and then take a break for lunch (both at your own expense).

Meet back at a pre-arranged time, and then tour the Ringstrasse by minivan while learning about its Imperial monuments. Head through Vorstadt Lanstrasse to see Friedensreich Hundertwasser’s eye-catching Hundertwasserhaus building, and then visit Schönbrunn Palace to marvel at its splendour – Vienna’s answer to Versailles! Continue to Belvedere Palace, and explore its Baroque complex that comprises an Orangery building and the Palace Stables.

Finally, travel to the nearby village of Grinzig, famous for its heurigen -- Austria’s traditional wine taverns. Stroll around, learning about the country’s wine production, and then hop back into your minivan for a drive through Vienna Woods to Kahlenberg – the city’s highest hill – to admire picture-perfect vistas of beautiful Vienna.

Our tour guide Hernando was great! We were a family of 7 ranging from ages 13-70 and he kept all of us engaged. We toured the Schönbrunn Palace, had a driving tour of other sites in Vienna, had lunch in a local restaurant and a 2 hour walking tour. It was a rainy day so our itinerary was adjusted for weather and we did not visit Grinzig. Our tour ended at a local Christmas market. Hernando was friendly, knowledgeable and a wonderful guide and the car and driver were also nice. I highly recommend this tour for a mix of walking and sitting and seeing quite a bit of Vienna in a short amount of time.

Allen was the overall best guide for our tour through Vienna. He was very knowledgeable, very personable, intelligent and actually was excited about sharing with us his knowledge of Vienna. We loved it!

Highly recommend the 7-hour personal tour. We had a wonderful experience and so much history was hard to absorb it all, but thankfully our tour guide was well versed and very patient with us. Thank you, Fritz, for making our vacation a wonderful and memorable experience!

Ms. Cornellia Tour Guide and Mr. Aamir Our Driver were true professional. We had true 7 hours personal 1:1 Attention. As we sat in the coach car for our tour, Ms. Cornellia ask our wishes and things we are keen to see or do. She gave options, and made suggestions. We spent our time very judicously and we could achieve a lot. We saw all the 3 places, Opera from inside with personal tour by Ms. Cornellia our wish, down town, stephan platz church, National library must See from inside. I would definately do it again and recommend.Best Value For Money!!!

The most informative and fun day we have ever experienced with a private tour guide.Mr Mueller was wonderful in every way. If PBS ever takes his tour, Rick Steves will have serious competition. The driver was excellent also. A fabulous day in a magical city.

    Thank you

This was the most amazing day! Our tour guide, Franz, was not only incredibly knowledgeable about Vienna - both past and present - but it was truly wonderful to spend the day with him. It is not always easy to spend all day with a total stranger and feel comfortable, but the day with Franz was exceptional. We went to Belvedere Palace and walked around the grounds, talking about the Vienna skyline and how it has changed, or not, over time. We drove out to Schoenbrunn Palace and did a tour of part of the inside and walked around all of the outside grounds which are huge, with big fountains and little quiet nooks. We had a lovely lunch at a beer garden, then came back to central Vienna and strolled around downtown. Franz took us places that we never would have found on our own, and pointed out interesting aspects of art and architecture. He was perfectly happy to let us customize the tour to our tastes, but since we were Vienna novices, we let him steer us to the places he thought we'd find interesting, and he was spot on. Although we only spent the one day with him, he was with us for the rest of our stay. We'd say remember what Franz said about this or that? It was an exceptional way not only for us to get our bearings, but also to feel like we had seen and learned so much in just one day. I imagine all the Viator guides are skilled, but if you can request Franz, you're sure to have a day to remember. If I could rate this tour with more than 5 stars, I would give it 10!

Cornelia was our guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and very interesting! Her love for Vienna, her job, it’s history was apparent and genuine. She provided us with additional information to help us enjoy our stay. Our driver drive carefully and was pleasant and courteous. The tour was so fun.
