  • Our day trip with Gary was incredible from beginning to end. He picked us up at our London flat and immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease in his super nice Mercedes van. He drove us to Leeds Castle for an amazing private tour and then it was on to Dover. It was an unusually foggy day and so he rearranged the order of our stops so we could see other interesting places and have a quaint lunch before heading to the Cliffs, which were of course breathtaking with the fog lifted by the time we got there. His knowledge of the area and stories from growing up there added so much to the experience. Then we headed to Canterbury and thoroughly enjoyed going through the town with him and then touring the spectacular Cathedral. Again his knowledge added so much to our time there. Gary truly seemed to think of everything to make our day extremely special and very full, and made it clear he was in no hurry and his goal was for us to have the most enjoyable experience possible. It was a splurge having a private tour for a day and worth EVERY penny. It was absolutely the best day of our trip to England by far!

  • My husband and I felt this was one of the best private tours we have ever had. Gary was sensational! We could't have asked for a more informed and friendly person to spend the day with. He knew more information about Leeds castle then the local guide. What we liked most was the ability to be flexible with our time and adjust how long we stayed in one location. Dover is a must see - especially when you have a tour guide that has lived there - Gary made the experience more intimate, informative, and enjoyable! We definitely feel this is a must do trip. • The day spent with Gary was like touring with a favorite cousin. He instantly connected with our entire family, conversation was smooth and comfortable from the start. We had planned an 8 hour excursion, but Gary made it clear from the start that he was ours for the day, and he doesn't watch the clock. We asked to stop for coffee and muffins, as we had skipped breakfast, and he found a cute place, and let us eat in the vehicle. We were very tidy, as his vehicle is immaculate. So off we went to Leed's Castle, because we had a prebooked tour there, before it opened to the public. He knew the guides well, and together, they were extremely informative. We even noticed that some people from other tours hung close to our little group to listen in. From there, we knew we wanted to see the Cliffs of Dover and Canterbury. Gary is from that area, and offered an even more extensive itinerary, if we were interested. We put ourselves in his knowledgeable hands, and spent the rest of the day walking along the pebbled beaches below the Cliffs, hiking along the cliffs, eating a fabulous lunch in a wonderful pub hidden in a quiet little beach community, driving through the quaint streets of Sandwich, and finally strolling the streets of Canterbury, while munching on fudge from a little shop that Gary knew. In fact, everywhere we went, the people knew Gary, which gained us a table in the crowded pub, and entrance to the closed fudge shop, among other things. Our last stop was Canterbury Cathedral, and Gary's knowledge of it's history, and little known facts, were so interesting! On the way back to London that evening for a nominal fee, Gary picked us up at our London hotel, and returned us there later. The tour usually begins in Dover, we were all tired, the kids were dozing, but Gary was still wide awake. We were grateful for the peaceful ride. He even offered to stop if we wanted to get dinner, but lunch had been late, so we passed. We were actually sad to say goodbye. By the end of the day, we felt like we had known Gary for years. I can not stress enough that he is THE person to hire for tours or transports when you are in the area.
