Ace Ong has provided a very comprehensive private tour of the World War II Introduction on Singapore during the 4 to 5 hours day tour. It was unfortunate that we could not cover the whole tour (last bit of it) due to a heavy downpour. However, I appreciate all the details and information shared by Ace Ong with regards to my questions on the world war II in Singapore even after the tour had ended. He is indeed a very knowledgeable guide and I will highly recommend him to anyone who is keen in learning more about the history of Singapore.

Our guide was Ace in name and the delivery was Ace. We knew a bit but not a lot. Now we know a lot after being taken intelligently to all the key sites. We were a 4, meeting up after 2and a half years of Covid. Ace knew his audience and delivered information tailored to us. It was interspersed with detail gained from Aces many contacts with ex service men and his own grandparents experience of occupation but balanced by an understanding of Japan. Brilliant tour. Thank you.

My parents and wife went on the WW2 tour of Singapore with Ace as our tour guide. I can’t praise the tour enough. It far exceeded our expectations! Ace was incredibly knowledgeable and expertly guided us around Singapore and it’s many WW2 sites sharing stories and building a very clear picture of the situation in Singapore and the rest of the Malay peninsula. The way Ace guided us around was incredibly accessible and catered for our needs. We knew very little about the Battle of Singapore at the start but over the course of the tour Ace painted a very clear picture. Full marks. Ace went above and beyond on the tour and I can’t thank him enough. I understand that he does other tours to Penang and the Malay Peninsula which we woll be very interested in once the borders open up. Another point to note is that on the tour Ace also gave us insights of modern Singapore. My wife and I have lived in Singapore for 5 years and we found it incredibly interesting. My parents had come for a holiday and they also found this “side tour” fascinating. My wife and I will likely book other tours of Singapore with Ace. I could not recommend Ace and this tour company enough!!! Thank you!

Ace gave us a tailor made tour of the strategic history points of the island of Singapore. He was engaging, knowledgeable and kind, giving us an insight into the fall of Singapore. Thank you - great tour

Actually did this September 2018, but realised I forgot to review. I found it very emotional as my father suffered greatly in Changing and Kranji camps. Ace was a wonderful guide and tried to Taylor the tour to our needs as a family.i cannot recommend enough.we will return soon when Changing museum is open again maybe for VJ 75. we would love to do the extension into Malaya to complete the experience.can’t recommend enough

I wanted to understand how Singapore fitted into the war in South East Asia especially because I knew my father (RAF photographer John (Drake) Bassett) escaped from Singapore but then re-joined the war effort in Burma until the end of the war there. Ace was very accommodating, personalising my trip to see items of special interest to me, and all along making the war in SEA make sense. Finally, all the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. More than that though, due to all of us who book and come into contact with Ace, he can pass information on from families who have other stories to tell. I have been put in touch with someone whose grandfather had personal diaries of the escape boat that my father was on so now I can experience my father's journey more personally. We stopped for lunch sampling local food and chatted about life in Singapore, how the country is run and had an insight into life there for the residents. I could not have chosen a better tour thanks to Ace.

This was a fabulous experience and well worth it! Our tour guide, Ace, showed us around the island, explaining its history and was able to personalise it so that we visited key areas and addresses linked to our family's history. We learnt so much about not only WW2 but also modern day Singapore so thumbs up for Ace and Right tours. However, thumbs down for Viator. I sent them 5 emails asking for confirmation of the tour as I didn't recieve anything and kept being told that the tour was inorder. I did ring Right tours as soon as I reached Singapore and later discovered that there had been a computer error and it was only as a result of my call that they traced the booking. So definitely do this tour if you have any interest in Singapores history but DO make sure you receive a confirmation from the tour operator in Singapore. This could have been a very different review had I not kept checking and actually phoned as soon as I got to SG.
