Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Windsor Castle, Windsor, Windsor and Maidenhead, Berkshire, England

I will pick you up from your central London accommodation in my comfortable private vehicle for a personalised tour of Windsor Castle, Windsor Town and Eton.
Starting in the historic centre of Windsor we will discover the hidden passages linking the Castle with the nearby Pubs. We will see the famous crooked house, and then go up behind the Castle to get a view most people miss when they visit.
Once we have seen the historic heart of Windsor, we will head to the Castle and skip the long queues. Then it will be time to get a good spot to see the Changing of the Guard Ceremony.
Many people dream of visiting the Queen and Royal family. When you visit Windsor Castle you are quite literally a guest of Her Majesty. This is a real working Royal Castle and home to Queen Elizabeth II.
Founded by William the Conqueror in 1070 this is one of the must see sights in the UK. Windsor Castle is the oldest occupied Castle in Europe, and has been home to 39 Monarchs.
You will have ample time to explore the Castle and splendid State Rooms used by the Queen to meet Heads of State and World Leaders.
This is a tour at your pace! no strict time schedules (except your own) As your private guide, I will guide you around all areas of the Castle open to the public, and of course be on hand to assist with photographs.

Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: St. George's Chapel, Windsor, Windsor and Maidenhead, Berkshire, England

Within the grounds of Windsor Castle, St George's Chapel holds the tombs of Henry VIII, Charles I, George VI and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother among many others.
It is the home of the Order of The Garter, and in recent years has become a Royal Wedding venue again, most notably the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The chapel is considered one of the finest examples of late medieval Gothic architecture. Sitting in the Quire you will be able to gaze up at a viewing gallery built for Catherine of Aragon to watch services below. All around you the walls are adorned with the brass plaques of former Knights of the Garter, some of which date to the 1390's.
Let me show you the interesting and sometimes hidden areas that many people don't spot when walking around with an audio guide!

Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: Eton College, Eton, Windsor, Windsor and Maidenhead, Berkshire, England

An optional walk across the River Thames to the small town of Eton. Home of Eton College where 19 British Prime ministers were educated. Princes William and Harry also attended the world famous College founded by King Henry VI.
Eton is also a good place to take lunch, as it is much less crowded than the main areas around Windsor Castle.
I will help you find a suitable place to take refreshments depending on your personal tastes.
We will then have time to walk around the College if you would like to do so, and then take a gentle stroll along the River Thames back to the vehicle, before returning you direct to your hotel or desired central London location.

We spent a wonderful day with Richard touring Windsor Castle and the adjacent Eton. Richard picked us up right on time from our hotel and we set off to Windsor. Before entering the castle grounds we took a nice walk around the town of Windsor, which was lovely and full of lots of quirky buildings and stories to go along with them. The castle is amazing and feels like you’re stepping back in time. Just so cool to get to spend time there and walk in the footsteps of the monarchy. After the castle we all had lunch at the Carpenters Arms pub (so good!!) and then took a stroll around Eton, which is right across the river from Windsor. We were able to walk through some of the Eton College grounds as well which are just beautiful. I wish I would have booked Richard for other parts of our trip. He’s super knowledgeable and for lack of a better way of putting it, very chill (can you tell I’m from California?). I very much recommend him!

We booked this tour a couple of months in advance, pretty much guessing at which Windsor Castle tour would be the best value. We hit the jackpot with Richard. When we booked, there was a range of vehicles on offer. Several days before our tour, Richard contacted me to find out if the now only vehicle he had available would work for us. Thanks to efficient questions on his part, we determined that it would be a snug fit but doable. We later learned he was asking because the former range of vehicles was no longer available, due to loss of business from COVID taking out all of his former staff. Our party of two couples weren't mobility limited per se, but one of us had a bit of difficulty walking, mostly from overdoing it the day before. Throughout the tour, Richard was most solicitous about her comfort, and at one point, was able to use his apparent excellent connections with Castle staff to arrange for a "lift-lift" so as to avoid a particularly challenging flight of stairs. We would give Richard 10 stars if we could. He asked key questions to ensure we were able to see what was most important to us, was super knowledgeable, constantly seeking to ensure we had the best possible experience, and a perfect host. He knew exactly when and where to go to find the best possible viewing position for the changing of the guard. We were in position just early enough to get a great view, and not too early to waste time standing around. We can't comment Richard highly enough for his outstanding work. We can unreservedly recommend him, not only for the Windsor Castle tour he did for us, but any other tour he advertises.

Richard was very flexible and customized our visit to the things we were most interested in seeing and doing while at Windsor Castle. He was a wealth of knowledge and would tell us as much or as little about each topic of conversation.

Richard picked us up at our hotel liked we had planned. This was my second time to London and my wife’s first time. He was so good to answer all of our general questions about England, other must-sees, and on and on. You’ll be ha rd pressed to find a more knowledgeable and likable tour guide. He’s easy going and made the day trip a lot of fun. We will definitely look up Richard and his tour company next time we’re visiting England!

The private tour of Windsor Castle and Eton that my mom and I took with Richard was the highlight of our London and Paris trip. Richard is an amazing tour guide - he is full of information about everything within the castle and the town of Windsor. We spent several hours walking around Windsor Castle, including almost an hour in St. George's Chapel. He told us stories about past monarchs and their spouses, knights, and historical moments that have occurred there. He has the timing of the tour down perfectly so we were able to see the Changing of the Guard, but still get to the state apartments before the crowds moved in. We were not rushed through, but rather got to take our time and spend as much time in each area as we wanted. We enjoyed a relaxing lunch in Windsor and got to check out some of the shops. Richard is a great guy, and my mom and I both enjoyed getting to know him. He picked us up and dropped us back off at our hotel in London. This personal tour was so much better than if we had booked the more common Windsor-Stonehenge-Bath tour that was offered as part of our tour group. I highly recommend it if you are interested in history and the current royal family. If we ever make it back to London, I will make sure to take another tour with Richard!

My family (3 adults) went on a private tour with Richard to the Windsor Castle and Eton, it was an amazing experience and totally worth it! We are ignorant Americans, first time to the UK, and I wanted to have a friendly knowledgeable guide that would pick us up from our hotel, show us a good time, telling us stories and history of Windsor Castle, and this definitely fits all the things I wished for and more. Richard answered any questions we had and was so accommodating. In the morning he came right on time outside of our hotel and picked us up in a very comfortable car, and we had a really nice chat on the way to the castle. When we arrived at the Windsor castle area, he recommended the best places to take photos, where has the best views, additional tidbits about the recent royal wedding in relation to where we were inside the castle, and even showed us a nice pub to have lunch (we had the very English dishes, fish and chips, and steak and ale pie with mashed potatoes. I highly recommend this tour if you want to have a relaxing fun time on your next holiday/vacation and learn some English history while seeing one amazing living/working castle!

My family and I did the Windsor Castle and Eton tour and Richard was absolutely fabulous. He was so knowledgeable about the sites and history. If you plan to see Windsor Castle, this is the only way to do it. The whole tour was worry free, we were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. We were able to skip the line except for having our bag checked. During our tour of the castle he pointed out works of architecture that we would have missed and while walking in town he had so many great stories to tell about the different buildings, streets and places to eat. He was very accommodating during the tour because it wasn't something that was a strict schedule but a collaboration of what we wanted to see combined with his recommendations which were spot on including the place we stopped for lunch which served great fish and chips. Thank you Richard for making our visit to Windsor Castle so memorable.
