We went on the Private Full-Day Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl Wine Tour from Cape Town with Steven in October. The tour was a perfect mix of old wineries, a peaceful drive through the countryside, and history. We also stopped at the Nelson Mandela statue near Drakenstein Correctional Centre and ate at La Petite Ferme in Franschhoek. We strongly recommend this tour with Steven if you have the time. He was attentive to our needs and interests and balanced in his desire to make us feel comfortable and at ease with South Africa.

Our tour guide was excellent! She made our day filled with spectacular views, beautiful wineries and relaxing 5 star lunch. Would highly recommend can't wait to come back and do it again! Thank you so much.

I booked this tour last minute (the day before) for a group of 3 and we all absolutely loved it! Fanny was our guide and she was so lovely to spend the day with. Her and the driver Isidor were extremely adaptable and adjusted our day based on the group’s preferences to make sure we had the best time and got everything out of the day that we wanted. I highly highly recommend this tour and this company!
-
Stephen of Elegant Country Tours was an excellent guide and knowledgeable host. We enjoyed Fairview and La Motte Wineries and the drive In the city of Stellenbosch. Stephen is highly recommended!

We decided to do a private wine tasting tour, which turned out to be one of the best things we have EVER done whilst on holiday. Our guide Tanya picked us up in a Mercedes (!), which gave it all an extra exclusive touch, however, we are not car snobs, so a less posh vehicle would've been abosolutely sufficient! Then we went on to two different wine tastings, one in Stellenbosch and one in Franschhoek, with four different wines each, before having an excellent lunch at Franschhoek Country House and Monneaux Restaurant and then trucking on to the third tasting in Paarl. Tanya was so knowledgeable and had a lot of background information to share! If it hadn't been for COVID, we wouldn't have booked a private tour, but it was the best thing we did! Highly recommended!

The knowledge and history of the area was shared with ease and was in depth; I am amazed at the beauty of our country and its rich heritage. Uncle Ivan, you are the best. Your passion for what you do is amazing. I wish more people can be exposed to this experience as it changes one in a positive and good way.

Ivan is brilliant. His local knowledge of the history of the region is invaluable because I assure you that this information is not available in a mainstream history book. Everything from the building architecture to the local flora and fauna of the region. This made the tour enjoyable and interesting. Thank you!

A fun tour to three wine regions and wineries. Our guide knew the best places to go. At the first winery we paired delicious wines and chocolate. At the second we sampled a wide array of wines and also tired the beautiful university town. We had an excellent lunch overlooking the valley. Finally we visited a third winery for more tastings. They allowed us to sample additional wines per our taste. A fun, tasty and educational experience.

Ivan and Esaudor went above and beyond to create the best experience that we could imagine. My wife and I both agree that this tour was the highlight of our honeymoon in Cape Town, and reccomend this guide to anyone who plans on doing a wine tour of the region!

Ivan and his driver picked us up promptly around 9am and we set off to Stellenbosch for our first Wine Tasting. Ivan was happy to answer questions about South Africa, the region's and wine. He provided commentary of each area we passed on the way to Stellenbosch and throughout the tour. As we approached the winelands, the scenery was beautiful and the winery's (there were hundreds of estates) were enriched with greenery and scenery! The first winery was Neethlingshof, we were politely seated and the lady who served us gave descriptions and stories of how each wine tasted and was given its name (we tried 5 different wines). This particular winery had stories of each wine printed on its labels which was a unique and pleasant touch. We walked out after purchasing 2 wines (the 6 flowers and Neethlingshof Malbec). Pricing was very cheap for the standard of wine tasted. Stellenbosch mountains was our next destination where we were provided with 4 wines (2 red and 2 white). This winery (Tokara) was the most impressive in terms of views and landscape. The wine was rather expensive and we didn't feel it was as good as the other 2 winery's when it came to the range of wine on offer. We visited Franshoek for lunch at La Petite Ferme, for a 2 course dinner which I could not recommend highly enough. The food was exquisite (lamb option especially) and worth the money (roughly R375pp) Fair view estate in Paarl was our final stop, while every stop prior was a sit down session, this was a stand up cheese and wine stop and we were most impressed with the selection on offer and ended up purchasing 6 bottles of wine (all for R595). We tasted 6 different wines and our host was happy to top us up with more wine. The tour overall was a great way to explore the South African Winelands, Ivan was knowledgeable and made it an enjoyable experience. Even if you're not a wine lover, this tour will definitely offer you something different. It oozes class and allowed us to purchase a selection of wines that would equate to around £120 if bought in the UK (we paid R895 = £47). Thanks Ivan for providing us with an unforgettable experience :)
