In the Niagara Region, there over 100 Wineries and Vineyards. You probably know all the big names of Niagara wine country like Peller, Inniskillen and Jackson-Triggs and while these institutions are really impressive and always serve up a nice drop, there are so many lesser known wineries to explore in the Niagara region. Each year we see new entries to the Niagara wine scene. The classic cool-climate varieties such as Riesling, Chardonnay, Gamay Noir, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc flourish here, but the region also now boasts over 40 other thrivingvarietalsacross 13,600 acres. The Niagara Peninsula continues to shape a rapidly expanding premium wine industry in Canada as the home to approximately 55% of Ontario's VQA wineries. So why not take a weekend to venture off the beaten path and visit some of these great small wineries your next favorite bottle may be waiting just around the corner!
