Know More about this tour

When you take this Pyrenees Mountains Small Group Day Trip From Barcelona, you are bound to have an exciting time throughout a day. Here is how you will spend your day exploring the beauty of Spain on this tour -

The first stop on your small group tour is the old market town of Vic and its beautiful cathedral.

Next, you will visit the stunning stone-built village of Queralbs, from where you will catch the rack railway high into the Pyrenees to Nuria.

Here, you can spend the rest of the day exploring the beautiful mountain scenery, following hiking routes, horse riding or boating. (See the itinerary for more details.)

A professional guide will be accompanying you throughout your day trip from Barcelona and will make sure that you understand the history and culture of this region.

Please note: From the 1st of November to the 30th of November due to annual track maintenance, the rack railway will be closed Monday to Friday. In the instances that the railway is closed, we will find an alternative itinerary such as going up into the mountain valley by road or enjoying a mountain walk at lower levels. These changes will in no way take away from your Pyrenees mountain experience.

Please wear warm clothes and good walking shoes on this tour. This tour does not require any special physical condition, but a reasonable level of fitness is needed if you wish to walk in the Vall de la Coma de la Vaca. It's up to you how far and how high you want to go!

Great trip. Stephen was wonderful and in fact took a hike with us. Def suggest this tour to get out of the city and experience the wonders of the magnificent countryside and small town vibe.

Sergio was one of the best guides I’ve ever had. Cannot recommend him or this tour highly enough!!!!

This was the last tour I took before leaving Barcelona, and it was well worth the time. Perfect weather on a day trip into the Pyrenees, toured the town of Vic with ancient temples/churches and some nice background history of the separatist movement in Catalonia, followed by a trip to Queralbs and a train ride up to the Vall de Nuria resort where the views were breathtaking. Arnau was an excellent guide: friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the history. Group size was perfect for this kind of tour. Highly recommended.

Fantastic trip. Every stop was interesting and picturesque. Our guide, Jordi, was perfect. Informative, knowledgeable, friendly. He made the trip even better.

We were looking for a way to get out of the city to get a taste for the Pyrenees since we didn’t rent a car, and this did not disappoint! It’s a small group size which gives you plenty of access to the tour guide. We loved the medieval cities but especially LOVED Vall de Nuría!!! It was suitable for all skill levels, but my husband and I decided to hike up a trail a bit which was beautiful. Even if you just do the lake trail and stay in the valley, that is still amazing. Our tour guide Sergío was fantastic. Would definitely recommend this! We will be coming back to Nuría and using “explore Catalonia” tour company again!

The hike in Pireneyes, sightseeing Vic, learning from the guide about these places, Barcelona and Catalonya. The guide spoke excellent English and had great communication skills. He was eager to answer any question we asked, showing deep knowledge about the history, architecture and culture of Catalonya.

We were in a small group, so the guide took a car. The group was fantastic as was the guide and whole trip! The scenery was beautiful and we went to a quaint village. The guide even got a key to the medieval church! I highly recommend this tour, but dress warmly.

Loved this trip. Very well organised. Cam our guide was lovely and funny. The pyrenees views were stunning. The tour gave me a taste of the area and I'd love to go back and spend more time there.

  • 06-Jul-2022

The tour was really good. My only comment is that if you’re doing this tour for the mountains, we only got about 1.5 hours of free time in the mountains which wasn’t long enough to complete any of the hikes which was a shame. But otherwise it was really good

The poorest tourism group ever. The entourage and his tourism company are rude and irresponsible, which will be exposed to all Catalan and Barcelona-related departments.
