Know More about this tour

Your tour begins with early morning pickup from your hotel in Quito. You will then start driving for 50 minutes northwest of Quito, to reach the amazing Middle of World monument, known as 'Mitad del Mundo'. Here, you will have a chance to visit the Equatorial line and straddle the two hemispheres. Take a picture on this iconic site and then take part in several experiments at the Intian Museum and be amazed at what you see. These experiments include watching water go down a drain in a different direction only inches away from either side of the equator, balancing an egg on a nail, using an ancient sun dial and more.

After lunch (included if option selected), you will head to the Pululahua Geo-botanical Reserve to enjoy a 3-hour hike. As you walk on the trail, enjoy the amazing landscapes in this inhabited crater and spot unique flora.

After a fun-filled day, you will head back to your hotel in Quito.

Traveler Reviews

  • 19-Mar-2019

The combination of the "Half of the World" attractions and a nice and moderate hike in the Pululahua Crater made up for a full day. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

The description of the trip is not correct-the walk to the volcano bottom is very difficult and steep-we did not have lunch at the bottom, the restaurant was closed. It was a long day, could be better arranged.
