We will pick you up from your hotel located in Arequipa's city center 10 minutes before the scheduled tour. Our store house located in Sequa Alta Cayma is 15 minutes from the Plaza de Armas in Arequipa. When we arrive, we will have everyone change and store their personal belongings in the transportation. After all the gear has been loaded and everyone is changed we will begin the beautiful drive through the Chilina Valley to the Virgen de Chapi-Charcani Sanctuary, a small church along side the Chili River where the tour begins. Before entering the water our guides will give a brief lesson on river safety and rescue, as well as explain the role of the rafting guides and the safety kayaker.
The first section of rapids is Class II and useful for practicing good rowing technique and river safety. Next, we will run an exciting Class 3 section where you are sure to get a little wet! The next section is Class IV, the strongest rapids we will encounter. If you are not feeling up for the challenge of Class IV rapids, you have the option to get out of the raft and walk a short distance to meet up with the rafts for the final Class III section. Although almost everyone is up for the adventure! After an exhilarating run through Class IV rapids we will stop where swimming and cliff jumping is an option, if you don't feel like you have gotten wet enough already! The final section is Class III. Upon leaving the river, everyone will change out of their wet gear before heading back to the storehouse for simple snack. Finally, everyone will be transported back to the Plaza de Armas to enjoy the rest of your day in the white city.
Our photo service is optional and is approximately 10 soles per person depending on how many people are in your raft. A photographer takes photos from the shore along side some of the strongest rapids you will run. We send the photos via GoogleDrive within a two day period.
