Overview

The Rainbow Mountain of Peru, also known as Winicunca, is stunning and can be seen on the spectacular Ausangate area. This trip that allows you to see the Rainbow Mountains requires a trek of at least 6 days (3 hours each way up and down the mountain) On this trek you will see quaint villages, beautiful adobe style houses, herds of llamas and alpacas and you will have magnificent views of the Ausangate Mountain (6,385 m / 20,945 ft.), the highest mountain in Cusco region.

Pick up from the hotel between 3:30 and 4:00 am, we will take an approximate 2 hour journey in our tourist transportation to the town of Pitucarca, where we will enlist for the walk and have our breakfast 6:30 am.We start the walk up to the rainbow mountain, this first part is 1 hours until you reach the vantage point of Vinicunca, where you will have a spectacular view of the snowy Ausangate and the Mountain of colors (Rainbow Mountain). After having free time for some photos and contemplating this beautiful landscape, we will begin the descent trek to the village of Pitunarca where we are waiting for a delicious lunch and then return to Cusco approximately 18:30 pm.As an alternative to hiking, you can rent a horse for your comfort

    El Viaje fue excelente desde la llegada a Cusco hasta terminar en Lima. Nuestro Guia Hernan fue muy informativo, paciente y obeservativo y muy bien preparado para todos los viajes que tomamos con el. La Agencia preparo hasta la mas minima necesidad. No tengo mas palabras para calificar nuestro viaje solo que fue lo maximo. Todo fue Excelente!!

    La montaña arcoiris es una de las atracciones que uno no puede dejar pasar al visita el Cuzco, muy muy recomendable .Particularmente me costo mucho trabajo poder ascender a la montaña se necesita buena condicion fisica ya que la falta de oxigeno vuelve un poco dificil el trayecto, sin embargo siempre hay locatarios que te ofrecen la opcion de alquilar un caballo a buen precio, ya que los guias con los que uno va nunca estan al pendiente del grupo y por el contrario te apuran para que vallas mas deprisa... Vale la pena subir y admirar esta hermosa vista. El Tour "Machupicchu Nice Tours" que alquile me parecio caro por lo que al final otorgan, yo pensaba que era un tour con poca gente máximo 10 con un trato mas personalizado pero no fue así... Parece que recontratan un transporte donde meten a mas de 30 personas (de otros tours) en un autobus que se encontraba en mal estado y carecia de todas medidas de seguridad (cinturones de seguridad) necesarios en las pendientes de la montaña para llegar al sitio ;despues te llevan aun poblado y te ofrecen un almuerzo y comida frío con el cual dificilmente uno podrá recuperarse de la pendiente a la montaña. Sin embargo la montaña por si sóla es un hermoso espectulo natural que vale la pena visitar.
