Know More about this tour

The tour begins at the port where you will hop on a luxury air-conditioned motor coach for a one-hour drive along scenic roads, passing quaint villages on your way to Villa Lapas and Santa Lucia Village.

Experience the raw power of the rainforest through the SkyWay walking tour. Of 1.5 miles (2.5 km) in length, this all-ages tour lets you observe a wide array of exotic flora and wildlife firsthand. Make yourself one with the jungle! Three suspended bridges at more than 180 feet above the ground. Each of these bridges is an astonishing 300 feet in length, crossing through the very heart of the tropical rainforest. Experience the unique sensation of getting surrounded by the magic of virgin, unspoiled nature.

Villa Lapas's privileged location, along the border between the tropical and dry Pacific eco-systems, gives us the benefit of gathering hundreds of species of birds as well as exotic animals (poison dart frog, monkeys, raccoons, lizards, anteaters and many more), plus astonishing views of the Pacific Ocean! It would be hard to get to see this many species anywhere else
The SkyWay tour walkway and bridges have been built with the concern of your safety in mind. All our tours are guided and the path's structures comply with industry-standard guidelines and security regulations.

Having experienced the tropical forest, time is allowed for guests to relax and stroll around in the beautiful shopping village of Santa Lucia, a quaint replica of a Spanish settlement during the Colony. At this complex, located just beside a crystal water river and rainforest, passengers will be able to purchase that special gift from a big array of items, including local gourmet coffee and small oxcarts, a symbol of the Costa Rican culture.

After shopping and exploring the surroundings, enjoy complementary tropical fresh fruits and ice tea in one of the dining rooms before to continue our journey to Tarcoles River. Famous for its large American crocodiles, the Tarcoles River forms the northern border of Carara Biological Reserve on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The Tarcoles River is home to one of the worlds largest crocodile populations in the wild and they are very easy to admire during the one hour boat tour.

After the tour, return to the pier. Upon arrival, you can decide to stay in the city or make your way back directly to the ship. For all those interested in walking along the boulevards, the pier is located right at the city at a very short distance from your ship.

  • The tour company, Greenway Travels were great. Met on time, a very interesting tour, led by Alberto. Very enthusiastic and went out of way to ensure we saw wildlife. He went out of his way to ensure everyone had a great day. Recommend! Tour was meant to be 5hrs but in fact was nearer to 7hrs, ensuring that we saw everything his country could offer in the time.

  • We have never met a more knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide than Alberto. If someone didn't see the avacado in the tree, the monkey or crocodile, etc., he made sure you did. He cared about each individual person on our tour and didn't treat us as a group. We were never hurried along. HE made every effort to make sure we had a great day in his country. Give him a raise. He deserves it! We highly recommend him and this tour. Thanks Alberto for the great day. Randy, Marilyn and Jeff.

  • The rainforest skywalk was excellent but it should be noted that anyone with a mobility issue should not do it as the walk involved some uneven terrain and a bit of climbing. The Tarcoles River Eco Cruise was also excellent - saw lots of crocodiles and a variety of birds. The one issue we had is that our tour guide did not have our name on his list. We had our voucher from Viator and he did let us on the very comfortable and air-conditioned bus with our friends with whom we booked and their names were all there. But there were a few tense minutes until he invited us to join them!!!

  • What an incredible experience seeing eco-friendly Costa Rica! Our guide was super friendly and attentive to the group. Walking in the rainforest over hanging bridges was spectacular--incredible views, flora and fauna. Then the river boat cruise billed as an hour but closer to 80 minutes with super knowledgable guides pointing out a multitude of birds, iguanas, and saltwater crocodiles. We were all shocked to see our guide jump onto the riverbank near an 18 foot croc and start teasing her with food--capped off by a kiss omn her snout after the feeding show! Highly recommended.

  • Our guide, Alberto was fantastic! And made our tour memorable. Perhaps the best guide we've ever had. Highly recommend this tour and Alberto.

  • Rainforest skywalk was amazing. Loved the way the bridges swayed when you walked on them. Did not see many animals. Only saw lizards and iguanas. It was mid morning and guide said too warm for animals to come out. Really enjoyed the fresh fruit and cold drinks at the stop after walking through the rainforest. River cruise was great. Saw many crocodiles right next to the boat. Also many types of exotic birds. Highly recommend this tour. Guide was very informative. Gave a great deal of information on the country of Costa Rica.

  • A great tour the tour company and guide where first class from picking us up from the cruise ship until the return . Would tell people about greenaway tours

  • This was terrific! They met us on the pier and got our group of 10 onto a very nice, modern, air-conditioned small bus -- easy and smooth transfer. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate about his country. On the way out of the city, he talked to us about Costa Rica's culture, economy, weather, and more. We arrived before the crowds at the Tarcoles River and boarded a tour boat where we got to see many many kinds of birds and crocodiles sunning themselves. Then we went up a mountain in our bus so that our hike through the rainforest was downhill and easy, seeing and learning about the ecosystem. We stopped for refreshments at a small resort in the forest before heading to a souvenir market one of the best we've seen, before heading back to the pier. On the way back, the driver took us off the main road to see the real city. I would highly recommend this tour if you're in Puntarenas for a day.
