Overview

Take anhalf-daytour from Reykjavik to experience geysers, waterfalls and some of the most exciting natural phenomena Iceland has to offer. In just six hours you'll visit the country's best known historical sites and natural wonders- making this excursion a perfect opportunity to see as much as possible without spending too much time.

Know More about this tour

Head first to Thingvellir National Park with your guide. It was here, in the year 930, that the Icelandic national parliament was founded. It is here that the mighty tectonic plates of North America and Europe meet.

Listen as your guide explains the geological forces at play in this spectacular natural setting, then continue on to the impressive Gullfoss waterfall, widely considered to be one of Iceland's most beautiful sights. Marvel at the falls power and perhaps take a moment to capture the views on camera.

Hop back aboard your coach and journey on to the Haukadalur geothermal area, where the hot springs of Geysir and Strokkur await. Discover impressive geothermal features such as bubbling mud pools, and marvel at the Strokkur geysers regular eruptions before returning to Reykjavik.

This is the perfect tour to take if you want to see a lot but don't have a lot of time! We were picked up from our hotel at 12:30 and drove for about 45 minutes to Thingvellir National Park with our first stop being the Geysers! This was a cool stop but it wasn't my favorite. I would have preferred spending more time at the Gullfoss but the Geysers still provided a great few and Ig worthy back drops. Our second stop was at the big waterfall (Gullfoss) and although it was quite foggy, the view was incredible! The stairs to the bottom definitely showed me I was out of shape on the way back up but I think it's worth the trip if you're able. Finally, we stopped at the Parliament building and although I thought it was going to be boring, it provided an incredible view of the valley below and a small systems of rivers leading out to a lake. Unfortunately by the time we got there, the Parliament building had already closed for the day so we were unable to go inside. The bus did drop us off back at our hotel right around 6:30 which was so convenient after a long day!

We waited for over an hour for our tour bus to show and it never did. This was our only time in Iceland and we are truly disappointed

The Guide Darren was fabulous. The stops were superb and the information given excellent. We booked direct it was a fraction of cost we could have paid on cruise line. Pick up was from cruise terminal they arrived on time and we had choice of drop off in town centre or back to cruise.

1-Moderne autobus 2-Vriendelijke chauffeur en gids die veel wist te vertellen. 3-Voldoende tijd om bezienswaardigheden te bezoekn. 4-Mooie streek, watervallen enz...

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and witty, with very good spoken English. The bus was a little warm, as the air conditioning wasn't brilliant. Well worth the money, especially as the cruise excursion was double the price.

We absolutely loved this tour! Darren was our guide and he was so nice and informative. We had a rental car during our trip so could have driven the tour instead, but it was our first trip to Iceland and I wanted to get an idea of the area on our first day. I was SO glad we did - we learned a lot and had an amazing experience. My husband and two teenagers loved it as well! I highly recommend!

Excelente relación calidad-precio!! Tiempo suficiente para verlo todo y además hubo una visita extra viendo unos caballos que mi hijo disfrutó mucho.

This tour was originally due to leave the port at 1 p.m. We were sent an email advising us the tour would leave at 2 p.m. Absolutely mass confusion at the port. No signage to tell you where to meet your tour. It was cold and damp and when we finally found the pick-up spot we stood outside with promises that the buses were ''on their way''. We stood there for an hour and a half with no communication from the Grayline rep. It was terrible service at the nth degree. Never book with Grayline for this tour. Horrible service. The tour itself covered good ground, although at the end of the tour, we were so late that the shops were already closed and no washroom facilities were available. It was a good thing we were in port over night because we would have missed our ship due to the lateness of the tour starting.
