Explore the fascinating streets of Latvias capital city, Riga, where old and new worlds collide. Be picked up from your cruise at the Daugava riverbank and begin with a bus tour of the city. Pass by a number of Rigas must-see highlights, such as the iconic Freedom monument, a tribute to Latvias hard-won independence, Rigas stunning 14th century castle, and its elegant National Opera House.

Learn about Rigas rich recent history, how it found independence in the last century, and about its flourishing arts scene, which led to its appointment as the European Capital of Culture during 2014. Wander the charming Medieval cobblestone streets of Rigas Old town and see many buildings dating back to the Middle Ages, such as the famed House of blackheads, and the Three brothers, the oldest dwelling complex in Riga.

Then, head to the central district, home to the finest and the largest collection of Art Nouveau buildings in the world, an area which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you will visit another site of significanthistorical importance, the Art Nouveau Museum, where you will learn about this beautiful architectural phenomenon.

Afterward, you will have free time to stroll along narrow streets and through cobbled alleys. Youll also enjoy free time to do some sightseeing independently or unwind at a cafe, before being taken back to your ship.
