  • May 28, 2016 - It was an okay tour, not due to the tour operator, Mike was really nice but I had some issue with the previous photos posted by other reviewers. My daughter and I went to Killarnary specficially to see Skellig island. I know that the description says 'Skellig Experience Centre' but we had no idea that this center is actually no where near the island - it is on a completely different island at least 15 KM away from the island. So we were sorely disappointed when we found out in the morning that all we would get to do is to go to a museum about the Skellig Island.
To no fault of the tour description, it did state that it is a driving tour around the Ring of Kerry ending up at the Skellig Experience Centre, however, all of the previous reviewer photos shared are photos of folks we actually WERE ON THE ISLAND where Star War was filmed. We requested that the tour operator get in touch with Viator to request they take those photos down, becuase we were not the only people upset about this.
Another note about the tour was that our driver was also the guide, but he didn't have a microphone so sitting at the last row we couldn't hear anything he was saying or whether he was saying anything. It was great that we were in a small van that seated 12 people, but my window in the last row had a decal that covered the window so I couldn't even see out. He was driving a bit fast to make sure we get to all the sites that we were starting to feel sick. This is an okay tour, still worth doing, but if you want to experience the Skellig island, you should just rent a boat and get out there on your own - which we did.
