Know More about this tour

Your first stop is Harburg, one of the oldest, largest and best preserved castles of Southern Germany. It was an important military stronghold during the 11th and 12th centuries. Through the Swabian crater landscape passing Dinkelsbuhl, you will arrive in Rothenburg, a preserved medieval town in Europe. Spend about three hours in Rothenburg, with plenty of time for sightseeing, lunch, and shopping.

A popular attraction is the Kathe Wolhfahrt Christmas Store on Herrngasse, a large store open year round where you can purchase ornaments, nutcrackers, and other Christmas items. Many of the highlights in Rothenburg are centered around Marktplatz, such as the Town Hall with its Rothenburg History Museum, and St Jakob's Church, a Gothic building with soaring ceilings filled with light.

You will return to Munich via the Hallertau, the world's largest hop-growing area.

We had a wonderful tour. I do not remember the name of the guide but he was half german and half french and he was just wonderful. Very informative, looked out for the other travelers when crossing busy streets, good information for food and very knowledgeable.

We had an amazing tour the week of Christmas, beer to purchase on the bus, great tour guide. We were able to have ample time at the Christmas markets and got to eat locally. I highly recommend this tour

tour was really well paced and allowed everyone to enjoy their time
Elisabeth was an outstanding guide and great thanks for Freddie our lady driver for keeping everyone safe and on time!

most enjoyable trip to Harburg and Rothenburg.
Excellent audio coverage by Elizabeth throughout the trip.
Only disappointment was the romantic road which appeared to be mainly on main roads

    What we liked:
    1) Rothenburg
    2) Our tour guide in Harburg Castle (local tour guide)
The reasons why we think the tour was not worth it:
    1) Rothenburg is a cute little town and you practically have about 2 hours and 20 minutes there, if you exclude the time it takes you to reach the bus and be on time for departure. So this is definitely not enough if you want to see the main sights, take pictures, enjoy the shops/Christmas market and have lunch. One needs at least 3,5-4 hours there.
    2) Harburg Castle is okay but the time we spent there could be more useful in Rothenburg.
    3) Our tour guide (Monica) had a rather confusing guiding style. She repeated lots of information over and over again at different parts of the tour, she went forth and back -talking about something, then suddenly about something else and then again about the first thing-, provided lots of unnecessary and uninteresting facts and even some wrong information about Christmas Markets in Munich.
    4) No WiFi on the bus, not so warm either.
Overall, try and visit Rothenburg on your own, because no tour will be able to provide you with the time you need to explore it and this tour/tour guide definitely won’t.

The scenery was beautiful and the towns very interesting but it is a bit overrated. The guide was friendly

It is a long day, however the tour around Rothenburg Castle is well worth the travelling, followed by the picturesque village of Harburg. We would take this tour again.
The driver and guides had plenty of information to pass on during the traveling.

It states 8.30am start, but you will need to get to designated point at least 8am to get decent seats (or to sit together) as it is a very popular tour. We had a modern and clean double decker coach. Guide was very knowledgeable. Be warned – it is a very long day especially the 3 hour drive back from Rothenburg back to Munich. Recommend.

Great trip, our guide Marcus was very informative with a great sense of humor and kept the day interesting.

The tour was too long at 11 plus hours. We enjoyed the lovely Rothenburg. The guide, Barbara, is the reason for our low rating. She provided bad and conflicting information. As a result we declined to see the castle and we were very late getting back. Her guiding style was very abrasive.
