Know More about this tour

Hop-On Hop-Off River Cruise
Board your open-air boat at either Castel SantAngelo, Isola Tiberina (Tiber Island), Ponte Sisto or Ponte Cavour. Listen to the recorded audio commentary as you sit back, relax and cruise along the Tiber River, admiring breathtaking views and passing under several incredible bridges as you go.

With your 24-hour ticket, hop off to sightsee at your own pace. Perhaps disembark at Isola Tiberina to see the Colosseum, where emperors used to host games to entertain the public. Usually starting with comedy acts and exotic animal displays, the games ended with gladiator fights to the death.

Hop back on the boat and cruise to Castel SantAngelo. Originally commissioned as a mausoleum, Castel SantAngelo now serves as a museum and is only a stones throw away from St Peters Church and the Vatican City.

The full-loop duration of the cruise lasts about one hour, and boats arrive every 30 minutes at both piers.

Hop-On Hop-Off River and Bus
Upgrade to combine your Tiber River cruise with a 24-hour hop-on hop-off bus ticket. Travel quickly and easily between Romes most popular sights and enjoy spectacular views of the city from the open-air, top deck of the bus.

Board your bus from any of the eight routed stops, hopping off and on at your leisure. See the Itinerary for a full list of stops. Perhaps, hop off at the famous Trevi Fountain and toss a coin into the crystal clear waters to ensure a return trip to the Eternal City. Be sure to stand with your back to the fountain and toss the coin over your left shoulder with your right hand. One coin means youll return to Rome, two means youll return and fall in love, and three means that youll return, find love and marry.

The full loop lasts around 1.5 hours, and buses arrive every 15 minutes at each stop.

  • The views from the boat are absolutely magnificent! Take the late afternoon cruise to get sunset photos and sit at the top of the boat for the best view. You can't hear the tour information at the top, but with those views it doesn't matter!

  • Great way to get the lay of the city!

  • Very convenient way to move about the city. Wish they had head sets rather than loudspeaker for those who have hearing issues.

  • A fun start to our trip! We did this the first day to get an overview of the city. Would recommend this to all ages!

  • Not the best boat tour we have been on, only travelled a short distance on plastic patio chairs with very little commentary and because of the high walls there was not actually that much to see. A bit disappointing!

  • This tour very disappointing. It is billed as a 4 stop hop on. It travelled 2 stops - went to an obscure little stop then turned around to return to first stop. When asked what's up - shrug and a 'this is the way it is'. Also, not unusual for Italian then English but English too brief - too late

  • This write a review would not permit me to post without giving a rating, so I gave it a 3, just so I could comment. Please disregard the number and just use my narrative that follows. We regrettably ended up not going! Our experience may help others: after 12 hours travel time, we arrived in Rome and got to our apartment about 8:p.m. We had not prepared ahead of our trip for the 9hour time difference. Hence, on the night we arrived, we were unable to go to sleep until about 3 hours before our scheduled tour. We are 69, but in pretty good shape since we hike quite a bit, but I simply could NOT get up and out of bed for our tour! When I scheduled the tour, I thought I was being pretty smart to schedule something for our first day in Rome that I thought neednt require much, if any, energy. I hadnt anticipated how tired we would be and how sleep deprived we would be, which could have been avoided with an Ambien e.g. I think doing just about anything other than what we did would be an improvement! I hope this is helpful to someone.

  • Not a lot t see. The commentary was good. We were able to rest our feet though after a long walk through the city.

  • This tour was very disappointing. The boat was going up and down within 500 yards. You could not see much .
I feel it was a waste of money.
