Know More about this tour

The Circus Maximus is the large ancient stadium where chariot races were held for the pleasure of Roman citizens and royalty. Listen closely and you can almost hear the roar of the crowds and the galloping of the horses hooves as they race for the finish. Envision chariot races as seen in the famous film Ben Hur.
Your next stop in Rome's historic center will be Capitoline Hill where you will be treated to a panoramic splendor sweeping across the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill from a terrace known for the most picturesque view.It is incredible to imagine that the vast remains of temples and public buildings in the Roman Forum were once part of the most important center of the Roman Empire as it served as its political, legal, financial and religious nucleus.
On this tour you will stop in Piazza Della Rotonda for an outside view of the Pantheon (no entrance due to difficulty in obtaining time slot tickets).
Trevi fountain is the largest Baroque fountain in the city. Legend has it that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they will be assured a return to Rome. The current interpretation is that two coins will lead to a new romance and three will ensure either a marriage or divorce. Another current version of this legend is that it is lucky to throw three coins with one's right hand over one's left shoulder into the fountain.
The Spanish Steps is where you will find the famous 18th-century winding steps that connect the square below to the French church of Trinita dei Monti above.Below is the early 1600s Baroque fountain, Fontana Della Barcaccia, or The Fountain of the Old Boat, a type of shallow boat popular for carrying wine to the port of Ripetta. The unique fountain is credited to Pietro Bernini, the father of the famous Gian Lorenzo Bernini.
Step into a world where history intertwines with vibrant energy, and the spirit of Rome dances upon the cobblestones. Welcome to Piazza Navona, a captivating square nestled in the heart of Rome, where the spirit of the Eternal City comes alive in vibrant hues and lively melodies. At the heart of Piazza Navona, an ancient spectacle unfolds. The elliptical expanse stretches out like a stage, revealing a captivating ensemble of architectural treasures. Your gaze is irresistibly drawn to the centerpiece of this grand spectaclethe Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, the Fountain of the Four Rivers. Majestic and imposing, it bursts forth with an exuberance that seems to defy gravity. Each intricate detail tells a storyfour colossal figures representing the world's great rivers, their features frozen in awe as they marvel at the artistry that surrounds them.
Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls is one of the four major basilicas in the city. This impressive church is dedicated to St. Paul the Apostle and stands outside the ancient walls of Rome, hence its name. The basilica has a rich history, dating back to the 4th century, and it has undergone several reconstructions and renovations over the centuries.

Driver was on time and car was well maintained and clean. Driver was friendly and very informative. He did a great job of planning out our day in a logical order and to decrease time spent sitting in traffic. He got us unbelievably close to each sight in Rome. We had a long day to see everything but we did not get exhausted because of the care our driver took getting us to the best places near each site. Would definitely use Stefano Rome Tours again. Very organized provider.

Our driver Fabio was fantastic! He picked us up at the cruise port on time, dressed professionally and in a spotless, comfy car. On our way to Rome he talked about the places we would be seeing and answered all our questions enthusiastically with great detail. Each stop on the tour he drove us close to the site (which cut down on the walking time) and quickly picked us up when we were finished. Fabio also took us to some “off the beaten path” sites that were so awesome to see. Our daughter wanted some authentic Italian pizza for lunch and Fabio drove us to the best pizzeria we’ve ever visited! So delicious!! I highly recommend you book your Rome excursion with Stefano Tours. The price is great (better value than the cruise ship excursions) and you get to see SO MUCH MORE with a private driver!! We talked with a group from our ship that booked through the cruise company and they didn’t see EVEN HALF of what we saw, and they paid more!! Thanks for a memorable day Stefano Tours!
