Know More about this tour

Book the Colosseum and Forum Rome tour along with the Best Of Rome Afternoon Walking tour, and rest assured that you will have a wonderful day in Rome.

Let us first take a look at the Ancient Rome and Colosseum Half-Day Walking Tour.

Your day of sightseeing starts near the Colosseum, where you will meet your guide and take a walk up the Oppian Hill for a view of the amphitheater, perhaps Rome’s most iconic symbol. Then, walk back down and enter the Colosseum with your skip-the-line ticket, allowing you to jump the main entrance queue and go straight inside. Explore the first two levels of the arena, listening to brutal stories about the gladiator battles and other bloody events that once took place here.

Duration: 2 hours

Exiting the Colosseum, walk over to the Roman forum, stopping by the Arch of constantine on the way.

Duration: 30 minutes

Then walk up the Palatine hill for more views of the ruins, before your 3-hour tour ends on the Via sacra, the street that connects Capitoline hill to the Colosseum.

Duration: 30 minutes

Now it’s time to begin with the Best of Rome Walking Tour.

In the afternoon, your 2.5-hour walking tour starts at Piazza di spagna, where you will meet your guide and set off around Rome’s historical center. Admire the famous Spanish steps, which lead up to Trinita dei monti church, and then walk to the Trevi fountain, perhaps Rome’s most famous fountain, known for its legend that states if you throw a coin in the water, you will return to Rome someday.

Continue to the square that ancient Romans considered to be the center of the city, Piazza Colonna, and then visit the stately Pantheon. Walk through lively Piazza navona, where street artists show off their talents and visitors mingle around the baroque fountains.

Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

It was a fabulous afternoon seeing and learning about the sites in Rome as well as the secret hidden details of churches, paintings and thoughts beyond the facade. Our guide was flexible and fun. He improvised and took us places to avoid crowds and the rain. I recommend this for everyone.

We had a great tour with our guide "Amber" in the morning- Amber was very interesting and kept us all happy on our tour 10/10
Our second tour of the day was a walking tour of Rome with "Massimo" - he was also good with lot great stories to tell

I toured the Colosseum with Sev and a group of people and had an absolutely incredible time. I learned a ton, he was funny, and he knew so much about the history that he was able to respond to almost any type of question. I wish he had led my walking tour as well!

Very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. Answered all questions. Walk took place at a comfortable pace. Would recommend to others.

Hmmm. Where to start. This tour needs to be better defined. If you have ANY issues with hips, knees, legs, feet, do NOT do this tour!
My other half has some issues with his knees. At the colosseum, we had to walk up very steep stairs. It was NEVER told to us that there was a lift (elevator) to use.
The tour director was moving at, ummmm, let’s just say very brisk pace and did not slow down.
Honestly, it seemed she really did not care. I fully understand they are on a time table, but come on. Again, had this been stated in the description, we would not have signed up for it.
We ended up losing the group. And no she didn’t come looking for us.
We went back to the starting point to locate a taxi, and all of a sudden the tour director comes running up asking where we went to and wanted the headsets back. She asked if we liked the tour, and when we said not really - it was too fast, she was like oh, ok thanks have a good day. Sorry, but WTF???
We did NOT do the afternoon walking tour at all.
To be honest, I’ll probably ask for a refund.

Fantastic tour guides for both morning and afternoon tours. “Gigi” and Maria were both very knowledgeable and fun tour guides. They answered all of our questions and gave us an amazing history lesson!

  • 10-Sep-2019

Our guide was personable, knowledgeable and thoughtful. She shared historical and cultural insights of both the Colosseum and the Palatino. She made sure we were all okay, given the many steps we had to climb; gave us short breaks to sit in the shade and have plenty of water. She answered questions with enhanced our understanding. An amazing tour...highly recommend. Only minor complaint: We didn't get our gelato as included in the tour.

To visit the ancient sites in Rome, there are lines everywhere - first to buy a ticket for admission, then to get through security check. You end up wasting a lot of the day away spending hours in line per each site. However, with this tour, tickets are already included and you get to skip the lines! Also adds important and fascinating context to everything you are seeing. The storytelling is great and don’t think we would have learned as much as we did. We had Damiani for the first half and Doriana for the second. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone.

These two tours are combined into one. The guide's were very knowledgeable. Which is a plus. I would recommend doing the tours on different days the day could be very long but worth it.

This is a fantastic tour. In the morning we visited Colosseum and Froum. They are part of Roman’s history. Our tour guide for Colosseum and Froum was Alexandre. We were lucky to have him. It was a hot day but his knowledge and friendly attitude made it very enjoyable. I highly recommend him. In the afternoon we had the best of Rome afternoon walking tour. It was a great tour to wonder around the city and get to know the some main part of city. I highly recommend this tour specially for people who visited Rome for the first time.
