Know More about this tour

First stop is Rosslyn chapel. Scotlands best-kept secret has now achieved worldwide fame since the publication of The Da Vinci Code. An architectural gem, its superb stone carvings are still not fully understood.

Further mystery surrounds the chapel and its association with the Knights Templar and Freemasonry. Many visitors leave with their own theory but all are amazed. The short walk through the glen to ancient Roslin Castle is also fascinating.

Then travel south to the charming town of Melrose for lunch. The stunning ruined Abbey is the final resting place of King Robert the Bruces heart. Youll then cross the ancient Scotland/England border at Carter Bar, a wonderful viewpoint in the Cheviot Hills.

Hadrians Wall is the best-known frontier of the Roman Empire and a magnificent reminder of one of the worlds greatest civilizations. Built almost 2000 years ago to contain the fierce Picts in Caledonia it stretches for 73 miles and was designated a World Heritage Site in 1987.

You stop at Housesteads Fort in Northumberland National Park, the best-preserved Roman fort along Hadrians Wall. Here you will enjoy a nature walk along one of the most dramatic and photographed stretches of the wall.

On return to Edinburgh, stop in the Border market town of Jedburgh to stretch your legs and for photos of the famous Abbey.

Lovely day out,not even spoilt by the weather.Rosslyn Chapel was beautiful.Had lunch and a look around Melrose Abbey followed with Hadrian's wall and Housesteads Roman Fort and last of all
Jedburgh. The Driver Alan was a fountain of
knowledge, what he didn't know about history we clearly didn't need to know.He is a credit to the company.Well worth the money and look forward to doing another trip next year.

Well done. There's much to see and a short time to do it all, so NO dawdling! Amazing tour, very fun and Alan was great!

A great day trip for anyone who wants to explore some fascinating historical sights. Heart of Scotland driver/guide Alan was informative, fun, and really enhanced this experience.

For me in short it was a very nice tour! The weather was unfortunately bad (it snowed), and some places were closed. However, they offered us a good plan B, went to another archeological site, and most importantly we managed to visit Hadrian's Wall after all! We did not walk up the hill as originally scheduled. Instead the coach brought us up to the hill then we got off the coach and took some time to walk around. Guided by Graham we have a pleasant short trip indeed!

This was by far our best tour in Scotland, with our tour guide Ian. Ian is super knowledgeable and very entertaining.
Of course, the sites are something else too! Rosslyn Chapel is a truly magical space and there's loads of historical information to take in. Hadrian's Wall/ Fort is another spectacular site that will take you right back as you can imagine the site at the time it was in use.

The tour itinerary was great and iain our guide/driver was amazing and helpful and knowledgeable, the only hinderance was the weather, it was rainy most of the day, and the wind was really bad. We (the 3 in my family) didn’t even risk the walk to hadrians wall because of the wind.

We had a great day exploring with Paul. On time pickup in an easy to find spot, and very clean and comfortable mini bus. Great commentary throughout the drive and safe driving. Sufficient time at all stops and overall a relaxing day out of the city!

Absolutely loved this day trip. The stop at the chapel did not disappoint with the presentation and the details all over the chapel. At every turn there was something new to see. Hadrian's wall was impressive. We love history and truly enjoyed this place . Highly recommend this to everyone

Nice trip, especially if you like history. The climb up to Hadrians Wall is not for people out of shape.

Our family chose the Rosslyn Chapel and Hadrians Wall tour as we wanted to see parts of the countryside as well as historical points of interest during our stay in Edinburgh. Our driver and tour guide, Allen, was terrific! He managed to get us into spots early so we had time for extras along the way. At Rosslyn Chapel he walked us down over the hill to the castle while sharing the history with us. It seems that my husbands family may have roots in this region. The chapel is amazing. Our time in Melrose for lunch and a visit to the Abbey was a favorite part of the day. Hadrians Wall is worth seeing even in the wind and range with the added bonus of walking through the sheep pasture. Great day!
