Know More about this tour

Departing Munich, visit the smallest of three royal castles, Linderhof, which was built by King Ludwig II during the 19th century as a hunting lodge. Built in French Rococo style, the castle has a Moorish pavilion which can be visited during your one hour stay. You have the option to join a guided tour of the interior of Linderhof.

After departing Linderhof, you will have a short shopping stop in Oberammergau, world-famous for its woodcarvers, richly painted houses (Luftl-paintings) and Passion Play.

On the approach to Neuschwanstein, it will quickly become clear as to why this magnificent neo-Romanesque style castle is the most well known castle in the world. It appears through the mist like something out of a fairytale, and you will not be surprised to hear that the man who conceived its design - King Ludwig II, was considered quite eccentric. If it all seems very familiar, it may be because the castle was the inspiration for Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle.

You will stop in Hohenschwangau, a small town at the feet of the castle, where you'll have 4 hours at disposal for lunch and to explore the grounds of Neuschwanstein. You'll also have the option of joining a guided tour of the interior of the castles if you wish.

  • We really enjoyed our tour, the castles we visited were amazing. The tour guide was nice and always smiling.
Everything was smooth. The bus was comfortable. We had enough time for a lunch break.

  • Awesome experience but somehow sad because of the tragic life of King Ludwig II of Bavaria.

  • I hate to give this 3 stars, but the weather just did not cooperate that day. The dense fog made it impossible to see the mountains, valley's, really anything. We also went on a Sunday - the cute village you stop in is basically closed (except one restaurant). Castles were, of course, beautiful.

  • What an amazing time of the year to see this amazing countryside and castle with lots and lots of history and opulence.
The driver and tour guide amazing.
NEGATIVE: Tour guide INSIDE the Castle. Just didn't want to be there. Hospitality industry requires you to be 100% to the very end of the day.

  • Beautiful experience, navigating the terrain near the castle can get a bit confusing but overall great experience. Bring Pancho in case of rainy day.

  • Very informative bus ride to both castles and we were able to see these quickly and easily. Plenty of free time at each stop.

  • We loved this tour. You have to pay for your entrance in person with the guide on the bus. When she came around to get ours we declined and spent our time outside of the castles instead of inside. We are much more interested in outside architecture than inside opulence. We did hear from the other people on tour that going inside the castles was fun and I 'm sure it's great either way! We took the bus up to Neuschwanstein and then hiked down the hill on foot after going on the bridge to get our close up views. If you do not go inside the castles you will have plenty of time to walk around the outsides and eat lunch, etc. If you do go inside for the tours you will also have time but we got to go over and see some other things in the little town around Neuschwanstein that others didn't. All in all, pick what you want and you wont be disappointed wither away!

  • Good tour, beautiful castle. Can get the same tour for much cheaper if you book it through local Munich companies.

  • Wonderful day. Great and enthusiastic guide.

  • Highly recommend - this tour makes it super easy for travelers to get to and from the castles, which are a must-see.
