Know More about this tour

Departing Munich, visit the smallest of three royal castles, Linderhof, which was built by King Ludwig II during the 19th century as a hunting lodge. Built in French Rococo style, the castle has a Moorish pavilion which can be visited during your one hour stay. You have the option to join a guided tour of the interior of Linderhof.

After departing Linderhof, you will have a short shopping stop in Oberammergau, world-famous for its woodcarvers, richly painted houses (Luftl-paintings) and Passion Play.

On the approach to Neuschwanstein, it will quickly become clear as to why this magnificent neo-Romanesque style castle is the most well known castle in the world. It appears through the mist like something out of a fairytale, and you will not be surprised to hear that the man who conceived its design - King Ludwig II, was considered quite eccentric. If it all seems very familiar, it may be because the castle was the inspiration for Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle.

You will stop in Hohenschwangau, a small town at the feet of the castle, where you'll have 4 hours at disposal for lunch and to explore the grounds of Neuschwanstein. You'll also have the option of joining a guided tour of the interior of the castles if you wish.

  • We very much enjoyed the trip. We left on time and got back on time. It was very worthwhile even though the weather was not the best. Our tour guide was fantastic and very informative.

  • Excelente tour! Recomendado!

  • Absolutely fabulous! Our favourite tour of our Munich break. Loved the palace and the fairy-tale castle is worth the half hour uphill walk. We bought the book about King Ludwig and found the history really interesting.

  • We loved this day tour and would highly recommend it!

  • Much, much better then I thought. Ober is well worth a look. Plenty tourists around the castle, but it did not matter. Really interesting

  • A great adventure to see 2 castles and a quaint village. Some folks thought the time in the village should have been spent with more time at the castles, however I thought is was a nice change about 45 min Yet, once at Neuschwanstein Castle it was a bit rushed. Was told there would be time to get lunch but then told to make sure you had enough time to get to the castle via horse carriage, bus or walking to it. your choice and your Elected the bus, then hiked off trail just a bit to the bridge for the GREAT photo op of the castle took about 20 min busy day, waiting time to get on the bridge so only about another 20 min to spare before our tour time once at the castle.
Don't know how others could fit in meal time. Glad I had snacks. They did have cold drinks to purchase on the bus.

  • The trip added a visit to Oberamergau, which is a good surprise for me because I heard about the town from many of my German friends for their famous passion play. I was so happy they the Guide and Driver added this short stop.

    Vielen Dank,

  • The castle was amazing so worth it to go inside both of them extra 24 euros to visit both. The tour bus drops you off at the bottom of the hill and you still have to make your way up to the top where the castle is. We took the horse carriage which was 6euros a person for one way. They also have a shuttle or you could walk up the steep hill. This tour Is basically a drive you there give you a ticket then make your own way to the castle and go on the castles own tours.

  • Wow so beautiful and worth the climb
