Overview

Explore Saigons railway village on this exhilarating sunrise photo tour. We capture life along the tracks as trains roll in from the north, photographing street traders, markets, railway workers and locals going about their daily life. This quiet part of the city, surprisingly close to the centre, is like a snapshot from bygone times, with narrow, sleepy alleyways, vintage coffeeshops and Saigonese showing their traditional smiles and hospitality. Along the way, well work on composition techniques and use of various settings to take your images to the next level. Discover the real Saigon while learning the art of great street photography.

Itinerary:

We start at Saigon Railway Station, with an introduction to the tour, camera settings review and a look at how to create a picture story. Our first subject is the old steam locomotive parked at the station entrance, which stands as testament to the century-long history of Vietnam’s railway.

Excellent photo walk with these guys. Large selection of choice, so you’ll find a tour for you. I did the Saigon Train tour. Very easy to book. Excellent communication all the way through. They set up a WhatsApp chat with my guide so I had direct access a few days ahead of the tour. The tour itself was excellent. It was in a location that I just wouldn’t have gone to on my own. Very authentic are of Saigon. The guide was local to the area, so was very knowledgeable as to where to go and what to look for. A very enjoyable four hours, taking pictures, drinking iced coffee and chatting about photography. I would highly recommend the company if you are looking to take some photos of authentic Vietnamese life, away from the typical tourist trail. I am super happy with the shots I got from the morning.

Adrien was a great teacher, he showed me interesting places in the city that I probably wouldn't have seen on my own. He made a lot of effort even after the tour.

Out tour guide Juan was wonderful. He is a skilled and charming young man, with great skills in photography. He took us to places we would have never found and I got some of the best photos I've captured in a long time.He helped make our trip to Vietnam and especially Ho Chi Minh City a wonderful experience. Juan even let my wife use one of his lenses on he her camera. That was "above and beyond" anything we would expect. And he was very patient with her in showing her how to use the lens and take advantage of some features on her camera. He is a very good teacher. I have no suggestions for improvement. I do not know how that morning could have been bett

I loved this tour and am so glad I did it at the beginning of my holiday as it meant that my photos from then on have improved. I learnt so much about getting the right shots and angles and even about using my own camera to better advantage. Highly recommend doing this tour. Juan Carlos was fantastic, very knowledgeable and a nice person who was happy to share what he knew. I would do it again.

My photo tour with Victor was superb. He promptly collected me from my hotel and we made our way to Saigon Train Station for coffee before the action started. Victor took the time to learn about my photography skills and style and what I was interested in getting out of this tour. We then made our way to the markets and back streets—here I got some of the best photos of my entire holiday in Vietnam. We then made our way for some train spotting and I was lucky to get about 8 train movements. The tour ended with a walk to breakfast (noodle soup was yummy!) and the best Vietnamese coffee I’ve had. I highly recommend this tour, and you’ll be well looked after if Victor is your guide. I had a fantastic time. 10/10.
