Know More about this tour
Leave Salzburg behind on a comfortable coach with your guide, and begin your day trip by journeying through the Bavarian Alps and along the Kings Lake River. Pass Untersberg Mountain, full of legend and myth, and enter Germany via an old border crossing. After traveling through the alpine valley and passing scenic farmhouses, you will reach the foot of the Obersalzberg, a mountainside complex that is home to the Eagles Nest.
From here, hop on a special coach that will take you to the WWII-era brass elevator, which then whisks you up to the Eagles Nest, perched on top of the mountain. Enjoy magnificent views of the towering snowcapped peaks of the Bavarian Alps and the surrounding countryside. It is a short walk from here to the cross on the summit of the Obersalzberg.
Youll have 45 minutes of free time at the Eagles Nest to have lunch in one of the restaurants around (own expense).
Part two of your Super Saver tour begins after lunch. Below Obersalzberg are the 450-year-old Salt mines. Walk in miners footsteps as you don a traditional mining outfit and descend into the grottos. Hear fascinating tales and learn interesting facts about this underground world from your guide, and then end your mining adventure with a raft sail on the salt lake and a train trip around the lake.
Your tour continues to Knigssee (Kings Lake), a lake nestled among the imposing mountains. Stop for a photo opportunity and enjoy some free time to visit the surroundings before heading to the picturesque Bavarian village of Berchtesgaden. Have a little free time to wander along the charming streets before returning to Salzburg.

The tour guide was very organised and friendly. We managed to get a lot in, in just one day even the restaurant suggested was fantastic.
Our guide, the driver and the weather all contributed to an outstanding adventure. Both the guide and the driver were as friendly and fun as could be.
We were very rushed at the Eagles Nest and only had a total of 40 minutes... a bit disorganized in the morning as we were herded onto buses
Breathtaking experience! Our guide Walter was very knowledgeable and spoke very good English. Very well organized and put together. I highly recommend this tour if you like beauty and majestic mountains. The Salt Mine was great, learning the history and seeing the wonders of the underground.
Breathtaking views at Eagle's Nest. Berchtesgaden is a nice stop for lunch. Salt Mines educational and fun with a train ride in a couple of slides down. Konigsee lake has beautiful scenery just wish there was time on the tour for the boat that sails the lake. That would have taken this tour over the top!
Started out meeting Walter (guide) and Ivars (driver) who were both excellent. Drove up to the Eagles Nest with specific guidelines for times and directions, great experience it views nd history to match. Then went through Berchestgaden for lunch, Proceeded on to Salzburg Saltmines with an info session and gear before riding the rails, ride across the Salt Lake underground, and shedding our gear. Drove to Lake Kisginoo where we spent two hours 30 minutes of which I was in the water. Headed back to Dalzburg where we drove through town and got some additional sights. Great job guys.
I didn’t feel like we had enough time to really see everything. Only an hour and a half and had to be back on bus
Excellent value for money. Walter was a great tour guide, very informative. Spoke English very well. Well organised would recommend to friends.
We had a wonderful day outside of Salzburg touring Eagle's Nest and the Salt Mines. I can't hold Viator responsible for the weather, but if it had been clear on our trip to Eagle's Nest, I'm sure it would have been a spectacular view. They handled everything with Panorama Tours. The tour guides were great and very knowledgeable and were able to get us all on and off the bus in time to move to the next Adventure. The Salt Mines are well worth it too!
Very nice tour.
