After an early start, head to the picturesque village of San Antonio de Areco, with its many workshops in charming little streets.On the edge of the village is the river Areco, which you will cross to go to the Ricardo Giraldes Musuem, giving you a sample of gaucho life. Thisis the ideal place to enjoy a parilla with succulent Argentinian meat in one of the small restaurants which offer meals at reasonable prices.

On the way back, take another route and stop over in Lujan to visit the spectacular Basilica of Lujan, a phenomenal piece of architecture pointing at the skies in the middle of the Pampas.Enjoy a wonderful day out with a difference, and a good rest, away from the noise and agitation of Buenos aires.

    Un lugar lindo pero chico. Si vas a la costanera vas a tener un boulevard con algunas parrillas para comer...si querés pasar el día llévate sillas, mate, heladería con comida y la vas a pasar re bien al lado del río donde la gente se mete y hay bañeros....un lugar lindo para pasar el día...hay juegos para chicos y una feria artesanal...

    It was nice to get out of the city and into the countryside for the day. The cathedral in Lujan is amazing and in the middle of nowhere! The gaucho museum in San Antonio was very interesting. Our guide Patrick spoke very good English.
