  • Overall this tour was exceptionally disappointing. I will list the issues we encountered so others can be fully aware of what they could get if they book this tour.
The bus to pick us up from Lucca was late organised by the tour operators as part of the tour so we got caught in traffic and were considerably late to the starting point.
Some people on our bus needed a toilet break before boarding the second bus and were spoken to quite rudely by the tour guides, told to hurry up and pointed at the train station with no idea where in the the closest toilet was.
We clearly requested and were told this was a small group tour, we ended up on a bus with 67 people, not a small group in my opinion. It appeared this tour was actually a bus full of several different groups sharing a single bus, this meant when we arrived somewhere we flooded the place and I suspect we did not see the best of the locations or the people involved.
The bus windows had condensation between the layers of glass at our seat so we could not take photos out it, could not really see clearly out of it and we could not move seats because the bus was full.
The main tour guide seemed stressed and flustered the entire day.
We were rushed the entire day because it started late because it was waiting for our bus to arrive, which meant the others on the tour assumed this was our fault for being late, this was known by the tour operators and was never addressed.
Lunch was at a winery, we were rushed through a wine tasting session and ushered into a dining area with plates on the table with food on them already, I suspect by the look and taste of it, it had been there for some time. The waiter owner I suspect was rude and made several disparaging remarks to customers. The food was average at best and if that is the best they think Tuscany has to offer I know it is not then they have a lot to learn about the area they are promoting. We were rushed through lunch arrived, wine tasting, lunch and leave within an hour, I suspect because there was any ther tour bus arriving as we left.
Airconditioning in the bus did not work upstairs.
One of the people on the tour was not feeling well and needed to stop to rest, her husband was treated very badly and told that it wasnt far and could they just walk a bit further, when he asked how far, they could not accurately say, it was up to others to use Google Maps and tell them. In the end they were left at a cafe on their own to rest and they would be collected on the way back. This was inappropriate, at a minimum one of the tour guides should have remained with them.

Hopefully this is a cautionary tale for others who might be considering using this company for this particular tour, do not waste your money and/or time.

  • The tour itself was fine. We greatly enjoyed seeing San Gimignano, Siena, and the Chianti area and lunch. Our tour guide was friendly and informative, but he left us and several others at the train station in Florence, telling us for sure that our transportation back to Lucca others of the group were going back to Pisa would be arriving in 15 minutes. We waited for at least an hour and then had to make a call to Viator, only to learn that a bus was waiting in another location within walking distance. When we walked to the bus, the driver was adamant that he was going to Pisa, not to Lucca. He drove us to a place outside Pisa, where another driver came and did take us back to Lucca. So, overall, we would say that the tour was fine, but that the guide really should have stayed with us in Florence to ensure that we had transportation back to Lucca. We were truly doubtful that we might be stranded in Florence or outside Pisa with no way back to Lucca. Also, we waited at least an hour in the Florence train station because the guide incorrectly told us where the driver would meet us. We were exhausted when we finally arrived back at our hotel in the Lucca region AT MIDNIGHT!!

  • Pick up was not good, had to walk a distance to bus. When arrived at each destination, bus parked a great distance away. Unfortunately, the young woman leading the group lacked the necessary experience to properly manage everything. Wanted to love the visit to Siena but left disappointed.

  • This tour was wonderful! I would suggest be prepared to walk very long distances and up lots of very steep hills. The hill towns are so beautiful and interesting to experience with lovely little shops. In San Gimignano there was a shop called Ceramiche Gori with porcelain vases and jewelry that I loved. The day was packed with lots of wonderful things and I would highly recommend this tour!

  • Unfortunately, we had to wait for an hour for the bus to pick us up from our designated spot to be shuttled to Florence. The driver said there was a problem in Pisa. We then arrived in Florence to find we had to wait another hour for the main bus to pick us up due to traffic problems. The trip to Gimignano and Siena was lovely and the Chianti wine tasting was great. By the end of this long day which was two hours longer than it should have been they still took us to another castle to see which I think everyone would have been happy to forego but we weren't given a choice. I think it was one of those stops where they hope you will spend money so they are obliged to stop there regardless of the time. If I were to do it again I would simply hire a private driver to take you where you want to go.

  • Fabulous, don't miss it!!

  • Visited beautiful places. Barbara was a great guide. Maria in Siena was amazing! Wish we had more time in Siena and less in Chianty winery, visit and lunch not so good. Rafaelo went out of his way to make sure we were taken back to our departure places late at night. Molto Grazie.
