I took the ‘free walking tour’ of Sarajevo with Meet Bosnia and it’s one of the best guided tours I’ve experienced! The tour is an easy pace walk with lots of stories along the journey that connects you to what shapes the culture, people and food of this beautiful city. What made it super special was the vast knowledge, enthusiastic presentation and organisation of Edin our guide. Živi život - Live life!

This was a fantastic tour of all the most famous sites of Sarajevo. We were traveling with 2 young children and Selma was extremely knowledgeable and patient.

Edin was an amazing guide, he showed us around Sarajevo explaining its history and contradictions creating the most immersive atmosphere. Highly recommended tour to start your discovery of this fascinating city.

Wonderful tour - very informative. There were too many participants, but they managed to make two groups to facilitate the tour. Erin is an amazing expert guide - just English is really easy to understand, and explanation is very clear. Highly recommended!

Beautiful experience. The guide, Edin, was very passionate and competent. You could fully appreciate his love for Sarajevo and Bosnia& Herzegovina. He guided us through the old town, indicating the main building and using them as a starting point to reconstruct the history of Sarajevo from the XV century to the present. Suggestions on places to go and tips for tourists were included.

The free walking tour was the best that could have happend to us! We only stayed for one night in Sarajevo (which honestly is way too short but we were only passing through on a roadtrip) and with the tour we got a short but interesting overview of the countries history and learned so many things! We honestly felt a little bad that we knew so little about Bosnia before and were very impressed by the country, Sarajevo as a city and the Bosnian people. Our guide herself was very modest (but told us very impressive and sometimes heartbreaking stories about her and her family) and you could feel her love for her country in every sentence! During the tour we went to the typical spots (for example the assassination bridge, the Cathedral) but also to some little shops and learned about the craftsmanships and the architecture of the city. We really enjoyed the tour! After the tour we also got some recommendations for restaurants and places in and around the city to visit. We went to the yellow fortress afterwards and honestly saw one of the most beautiful sunsets over Sarajevo. We felt overwhelmed by the city’s history and the fact, that after all the things the Bosnians went through they still came out (under our impression) as such nice and positive people! We will definitely keep Sarajevo in mind as one of our favourite spots on our Five week roadtrip. We highly recommend the free walking tour and even if it is only to learn some cool facts and meet other travellers, you will always gain something from it! Also the “fall of Yugoslavia” tour sounded very interesting but as I stated earlier we only had one day in Sarajevo but consider it if you have enough time!
