Know More about this tour

The adventure begins with pickup from your Kingston hotel, accommodation at 6:30AM or 12AM (may vary). After a briefing on the day's activities, climb into the comfortable 4-wheel drive and travel approximately an hour and half up to Abbey Green, which sits at an elevation of 5,000 feet (1,524 meters).
The Blue Mountain is situated in the Blue and John Crow Mountain, which is a World Heritage Site. The first part of the trail is called Jacob’s Ladder, a steep and winding path that takes you straight up the side of the Blue Mountain. The distance to the peak from here is 5.8 miles (9.2km). The spectacular scenic views along the way will amaze you – and keep an eye out for bird species including chestnut-bellied cuckoo, rufous-throated solitaire, crested quail dove and the national bird of Jamaica, the doctor bird. The Blue Mountain Peak is the highest point in Jamaica at 7402ft (2256m). It is said that on a clear day you can see Cuba from the summit. This area is also famous for its coffee. Cap the tour off with a delicious cup of Blue Mountain coffee and an authentic Jamaican breakfast or lunch. Finally, your driver will return you to your Kingston hotel, where the tour ends.
We stop at the Rest stop for coffee before the hike begins. We return here for breakfast or lunch after the hike.

This hike was simply amazing. Transportation worked nicely - changed from a regular car to 4-wheel drive when the road got steep and bumpy
The hike started promptly upon arrival at 2:10 in the morning. The entire 11 km of the path is well maintained, but it is a l-o-o-ong walk - not for beginners! My guide, Hopeton Livingstone Willis, was amazingly patient, supportive and understanding. Hopeton is the guide you wish for whether you are an expert or someone who needs an additional break, without pressure, now and then. Unfortunately we did not have a view at the peak, but skies cleared on the way down, and sunshine enhanced the splendor of this unique mountain world. Once we made it back to the hostel, a delicious breakfast with local coffee awaited. We were back at the hotel in no time thanks to entertaining conversations with both drivers. This is the most demanding hike in all of Jamaica - go do it! You won't regret embarking on this adventure.

This was a great time. Arrival was at the decided time not “Island Time”. The drive showcased the mountains. At the head of the trail is where we began. The hike to Blue Ridge summit was physically difficult, but well rewarded with views of the island. Unfortunately from the summit a cloud had descended on us so we could not see the whole island, but a short ways down we were rewarded with a great view. Make sure to wear some type of sturdy tennis shoe or better, bring a couple snacks and water. Average time up is 3 hrs. I was able to finish it in 2:20min. Speed won’t get you to the rewards, determination will.
