Know More about this tour

Set off from Reykjavik's Old Harbour and head out into Faxafli, a large bay ideal for your fishing tour in Reykjavik. Your experienced fishing guide will spot a perfect fishing spot in a flash!

If you haven't been sea fishing, don't worry! Its easy to learn, and your crew will happily show you the ropes, advising you on bait and passing on their angling knowledge. Listen to the captain and crew tell entertaining stories of the sea, and ask them any questions you have. All necessary equipment, including fishing rods and bait, is available on board.

This sea-angling tour is great for both experienced fishermen intent on reeling in as much as they can and those who simply wish to relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounding with a fishing rod in hand.

After your fishing session, you are free to either barbeque your catch on the boat or ask to have your fish wrapped up for you to take away.

When you take this tour between May 1 and August 15, you will also go to the 'Puffin islands' of Akurey and Lundey, where thousands of seabirds, including puffins, nest every year. Taking this Sea-Fishing Tour From Reykjavik is a great way to explore the ocean.

This was fun and glad we did it. However just a few thoughts on what may make it easier. They don’t have water or drinks for free on board so please make sure you bring your own. We had relatively calm water but I could also imagine that far out there would be others that may want to take a Dramamine before hand. The other reviews talked about catching fish after fish. We must’ve had exceptionally bad luck because after 2 1/2 hours we had to fish on the boat. Luckily our fifth stop was the one and we caught a ton in a short time. I had counted this as dinner but in hindsight a snack beforehand would have helped. The advertisement says that it’s limited to nine people. We had twice that. They only let you fish off one side of the boat so it was crowded and it one point we were out of rods because people lose the bait as they fish. Not much to be done about that but good for awareness as it was crowded. The staff was great. Very patient and kind. Covered everyone in many languages. Big shout out to Lucas who was right there to help time and time again. We ran three hours and 15 mins so a bit over the published time but no doubt because of our lack of skills catching the fish. :) Dress warm. Very warm. The coat they give you is a rain coat. Plan to have water pants as your legs and shoes will touch water and fish. The inside of the boat was good for a break. Dry and warm. Plenty of places to sit. Departure for me was the big blue building on the harbor. The address on TripAdvisor was on google maps so super easy.

We were set up to go fishing on a Wednesday but the weather was not great so the tour operator called and emailed to let us know early enough in the day so no time was wasted. Didn't get to fish but the tour operators were great about getting you the info.

Awesome trip! Perhaps the best activity in Iceland. Completely different experience than lake/river fishing (way better than lake/river). Crew is great as well! They were really professional and fun!

Helpful crew brilliant experience felt like a kid in a candy store! We were lucky with the weather and we caught good amounts of fish, we saw dolphins and wales and got to feast on our own catches. Everything was amazing from start to finish.

The trip was cancelled due to the motor not functioning. We were offered another date or refund. As I had other plans I requested a refund and I still have not received it from . I was told 3-5 business days

Weather bad we fish in states locals said should have never went out on day like today. . Staff not helpful . No catches no food, offered free tomorrow sailing knowing full well we couldn’t do.

Cancelaron la salida en el ultimo minuto por "no haber suficientes pescadores" No merece la pena hacer mas comentarios.

Even though it was unclear where the tour starts (GetYourGuide app/confirmation said different than Special tour’s Info office) and we were only offered rain coats (=not anything warmer) to protect us from fish gunk and rain, the trip itself was a success. We went to the Info office, on Grandagardur, at 4:30 to get a ”receipt” to be given on the boat (named ’Rosin’, that was waiting in the marina) and then entered the boat. Once on the sea, the guide instructed us on how to use the rods and in minutes we were getting big cods, one after another. The biggest fishes were kept and the captain grilled them and we ate them with potatoes and sauces. (We only caught cods). Dress warmly and you’ll love this trip.

On our family vacation to Iceland, I booked this fishing charter for my husband. While the weather wasn't great, we had such a great time! My husband caught a dozen fish (I caught my first 2 fish!) and the crew grilled what the boat caught with some potatoes, as we headed back to shore! We even stopped for a bit to catch some whales breaching and swimming around us! Such a wonderful Iceland fishing experience for us!
