Unfortunately, the tour with Michael was relatively disappointing considering the price nearly being $200. Michael was late and there wasn't much of a tour or explanation as to why these spots were chosen or what was special about the food. It felt more like being herded from one spot to the next with a babysitter. The food was tasty but the places we went to generally required that we move tables and chairs while breaking into smaller groups because there were no reservations. Furthermore, the food was being ordered while we were only a stop away from our next destination which required that we sit and wait around for roughly 30-40 minutes at stops. Ultimately, the way this was structured with our guide could've been just an online article with recommendations. More explanations and planning is recommended but the choices were great.

My husband and I had an EXCELLENT tour with Pola! We were the only people on the tour, so we got special treatment. She spent extra time to answer our questions about the city, which we appreciated. We went to five restaurants and learned about their backgrounds and the secrets to their success. Our favorite samples were brisket and spicy pintos at Cooper's Bar-b-que and tacos at the Velvet Taco. We purchased the package with adult beverages, which was fun. About the city: Pola took us through the historic Driskill Hotel. She pointed out some speakeasies and told us how to get the secret passwords. We walked along famous 6th Street, where she pointed out music venues. Pola has an extensive background in the food service, and she obviously enjoys sharing her knowledge with others. We highly recommend the tour - ask for Pola!

Great way to get a feel for downtown Austin. Michael was a knowledgeable guide and was not only able to give information about the food and restaurants but also about the history of the buildings too.
