Know More about this tour

Enjoy two stunning cities in one day on this comprehensive tour of Toledo and Segovia. Both Toledo and Segovia are must-do stops on any travellers visit to Madrid two ancient, contrasting cities which due to their beauty and rich history have both achieved UNESCO World Heritage Site classification. The history of both cities fits together perfectly on this tour your expert guide will use the array of stunning monuments and ancient buildings to help you trace the history of Spain and the Iberian Peninsular from Roman times, through to the Christian, Muslim and Jewish on the region, and the modern day.

Departing from central Madrid via bus, your Segovia tour will begin in the citys Old town, passing through the narrow streets and pausing to admire the Roman Aqueduct. The aqueduct of Segovia is considered the most important work of Roman engineering in Spain incredibly well-conserved, it will have you gasping and reaching for your camera. You will then enter the citys ancient fortress, the Alczar of Segovia, with your entry tickets and guided tour inside included.

After a break for lunch, the tour will then progress to Toledo, where you will explore the citys medieval neighbourhoods and historic monuments, and come to understand why it is called the City of the Three Cultures (Christian, Jewish and Muslim). Your guide will take you into the citys principal attraction - Cathedral of Toledo (with entry included in the ticket price), and after you tour inside and explore the city further, whisk you back to Central Madrid.

    2 cities in 1 day...a must do!
The downside to this trip is that the directions for the meeting point was not clear and we missed the tour the first day. Originally, we were scheduled to take the tour on Saturday but since we missed the bus we took it on Sunday, so 10 of our family members could not enjoy this experience. Only 6 of us enjoyed the experience of both cities. The visit to Segovia was shorter than expected, but we loved learning about the history of the Roman Aqueduct, St. Maria Cathedral and the castle, which inspired Walt Disney. We met some nice people along a way too. Toledo was amazing and very picturesque. You can really see the religious and cultural influences around the city. Also we were able to get some really nice leather items.

Our guide Ivan was well informed, extremely nice and a real pleasure to talk to. Both Segovia and Toledo were fantastic towns and the tour was well run. However there was not really enough time to spend in either place to see additional sites not on the guided tour considering a significant portion of the day was spent driving. Two other tour issues: during booking and confirmation the tour stated lunch was included but was not. This seems to be an issue with the off season timing of our visit and the multiplicity of your types. Also with the amount of travel involved the bus needs an on board restroom. If you have only one day to see the areas around Madrid you definitely don’t want to miss either of these two amazing towns. However to really appreciate them and see all they have to offer you may want to consider two independent full day trips.

This is a great basic tour of both cities; we happened to go when both were colder and experiencing wintry weather but still had a great time visiting both Segovia and Toledo. David was a good guide and made sure to give us a thorough background of the cities and answered our questions. Being given some information about the locations on the bus before arriving was helpful too so you get an idea of what you're seeing and some history before you arrive. You have enough free time in each place to explore on your own a bit and the price is definitely more than fair for a full day's trip!

The tour guide Benny was very knowledgeable and clear, answer all questions. The bus was very comfortable, the only remark was the driver very often brake and stop the bus real hard and rough, causing One time for my wife hit the front tray in the chest.

We booked the 8:00 am Segovia and Toledo with Alcazar and Cathedra tour. Due to a previous experience of being left behind in another Viator tour, we made sure we were at the meeting place half an hour before 8:00 am (tip: you definitely want to be at the meeting place 15 mins before the start of tour). Remember to read the detail of exactly the meeting place. When we got to the meeting place (Neptuno Fountain), we weren't sure exactly where the Tourist Information Booth is so we sent the tour operator (IBE Tour) a note when leaving the hotel around 7:10 am through the link on our electronic ticket on the Viator website. The tour operator responded within 10 mins and gave us the exact direction re locatin of Tourist Info Booth (tip: when in doubt, email the tour operator directly through the link to your ticket before the tour; they are very responsive). If the meeting place is at the Tourist Information Booth near Neptuno Fountain, there is a Starbucks just on the right of the statue so can chill there if you get to the meeting place early. The tour bus (orange) came around 7:50 am and we left for Segovia at 8:00 am. Ivan, the tour guide, was amazing and introduced the itinerary at the beginning of the bus ride and a quick overview 20 mins before arrived at the destination place. He also did an excellent job for the guided tours and gave us enough time to explore the two cities and lunch at Toledo as well as recommendation re lunch places, souvenirs/ desserts to get at these places. The weather forecast said rain for that day but when we arrived at each city, the rain stopped and sun came out. We returned to Madrid at 6:45 pm (no traffic along the way). Overall the tour is excellent and strong recommended. If you are deciding between Segovia and Toledo, we would recommend Toledo. Lots more restaurants, shopping and tourist sights to visit. The Cathedral in Toledo is breathtaking.

We (4 university students) really enjoyed our tour. We especially enjoyed the Cathedral and felt the tour in the Cathedral was definitely worth the extra money. Would recommend. On the tour we were given an hour for lunch. We had chosen to bring lunch with us so used this time to explore and would recommend as there is not much time to explore Toledo otherwise but that hour was a good amount of time for us.

Both Segovia and Toledo were absolutely beautiful and I very highly recommend them both! My fiancé and I only had 3 days in Madrid, so we could only allot 1/2 day to each city, which was disappointing because they both have so much to explore! The guide was great and very informative. This tour had both English and Spanish on the bus, but split into 2 groups in the cities. One thing I really loved about this tour particularly was that it includes (optional) access to the Cathedral in Toledo. Do NOT miss this!! The cathedral was breathtaking!

Booked wrong date by accident. Received no communication, reminder or follow up from the operator at all. Showed up the following date when I thought I had booked to a largely empty double decker bus, but was told that I had missed it and that was that and sent away at 7:50 in the morning. It was my mistake, but the operator showed no intention of helping or assisting at all.

The tour was wonderful. We got picked up on time. The bus was big and clean. The tour guide David was friendly and patient. Very passionate about what he does. He spoke in good English and Spanish. Segovia was wonderful. The aqueducts were magnificent. My boys ages 10 and 11 loved the Segovia alcazar. Toledo had so much history. We ate there around 2pm in a resto as per guide suggestion and it was delicious. I wished there was more bathroom breaks. We snuck away from the tour to go inside McDonald's. There was alot of walking but there were alot of stops so it was not tiring. The guide waited for everyone before explaining what we were looking at. It was Christmas Eve and we got back to Madrid on time.

We had an excellent day tour of two beautiful nearby historic towns of Segovia and Toledo. Although the weather was rainy, we still enjoyed the bus tour, the guide, and the various walks thru the towns.
