Know More about this tour

Your skip-the-line priority access ticket is tailored for travelers who prefer to explore ancient Rome alone rather than take a tour. Please remember to bring a map, an app, or a good guidebook because there is plenty to see and learn. Your walking tour has no time limits and no fixed itinerary; thus, you will not miss anything in ancient Rome or be tied to particular areas.

This ticket-only service is self-guided. The Roman Forum, Colosseum and Palatine Hill areas close at approximately 6pm.

The self-guided theme continues in the Vatican Museums with Rome's first ever quest tour! This, "The Vatican Quest", covers so much more ground than what other tourists see and hear about on regular guided small group tours. Our Vatican quest points out little-known gems and nuggets in paintings and sculptures, then asks and answers questions which will both amaze and astound! It's the future of tourism in Rome, the days of following the crowd are well and truly over!

  • While we loved the Colosseum, the self-guided Vatican Quest Tour DOES NOT INCLUDE admission to the Vatican! We were so disappointed to find out that we needed to go stand in line after we thought we bought a skip the line tour.

Tip - people will try to sell you an English speaking tour guide with your admission to the Collosseum - there is NO NEED and it will be more enjoyable without one and you will not limited on the time you can spend there. People will also try to sell you skip the line passes at the Vatican for 33-40 Euros, if you want to stand in line to get your ticket its only 17 Euros prices are per person.

  • Exactly as advertised. Read the instructions, make sure to check your email and print the correct tickets. Once you have that, just walk up to the gate at the right time, get in and enjoy the sights and sounds. If you like you can buy the audio tour or read ahead for a richer experience. We has no trouble and were easily able to get into the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill. I skipped the Vatican Quest Tour, not sure what that was about, but we were visiting the Vatican the next day anyway. Overall, great experience.

  • Good value.

  • Ran out of time, but a great experience!

  • Skipped the line like a breeze!

  • it was a very unforgettable experience...

  • The self tour was good.

You had a third party send us the tickets for entry. You need to have Viatar send all notifications.

Although the tour I rate as a four, the way you email the actual tickets to get in I would rate as negative 1.

  • walked in within 5mins, definetly worth skipping the long lines.

  • The Colosseum itself is great but finding where we were to gain access was a real pain. It seems that the tour folks there have it out for anyone not doing one of their tours and we were directed multiple places before being told to get in the middle line which is marked with an I symbol. Same issue at the Forum. IF you choose to walk up the hill to the left of the forum lines it takes you only to a very small church at a dead end street. Definitely not worth the amount of uphill walk for that.

  • This was a great site to visit for its historical value. The Roman Forum was spectacular! It was extremely crowded even in the middle of September. We never found out what the Free Self-Guided Vatican Quest Tour was and no guides knew either so that was a mystery. All in all an amazing site to visit. Glad we purchased our tickets in advance as the lines to get in were very long and it was very hot. Be advised!
