This is the most classic hiking route on the Great Wall, taking about 5 hours to complete a distance of 10 km (6 miles) from Jiankou to Mutianyu section.
Upon arrival, your driver will show you the way to get on Jiankou Great Wall and which way to heading to Mutianyu Great Wall. Then, start your self-guided tour towards Mutianyu.Jiankou is one of the most challenging sections of the Great Wall, as it is a completely wild Great Wall, which is very popular to photographers and advanced hikers. Mutianyu section of the Great Wall boasts the most beautiful scenery of all the sections. The real hiking starts after climbing up to Zhengbeilou. The majority part of Jiankou Great Wall has no steps, and it's slippery and steep slopes (almost 90 degrees).
The driver picks you up from Mutianyu Great Wall Ticket office and then you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing.Of course, you can add-on a friendly hiking guide service upon booking, if you need someone to hike with you and tell the stories along the way.
