My husband and I and our 3 teenagers based ourselves in Picton and did self guided Queen Charlotte track walks on 2 consecutive days. The staff at Beachcombers were really helpful when we were organising our trip. They provided all the information we needed. They were flexible with pick up times and places and encouraged us to let them know if we had any problems getting to the pickup point in time. We had 2 amazing days on the track with glorious weather in the middle of winter. Seeing pods of dolphins close up on 3 of our 4 boat transfers was an unexpected bonus!

Got dropped off at Ship Cove and picked up on time at Furneaux Lodge. the Skipper Jason was very knowledgeable and fed us lots of information about the area on the ride to Ship Cove which took almost an hour. Views were breathtaking along the way as well as at the end point! Did a solo hike which took me a total of 4h30mins with barely any breaks other than stops for photos. The estimated time for this hike is 5h30mins, probably for those who walk at a more leisurely pace. Managed to complete without a map and just relied on the signs which was ok, except for one confusing sign somewhere in the middle of the track. Made it anyways! Was a pretty quiet hike - only met 1 biker along the way. Saw weka and fantail along the way. Would do this again perhaps with some company!

Beautiful track with small elevation gain so the 17km are easy to do; lodge at the end where you can buy food or drinks; boat ride to the starting point was fantastic and full of amazing views .

This company offers pickups and dropoffs for walking the Queen Charlotte Track. They are very flexible, and listen to their customers concerns, for which I am incredibly grateful. The morning that we were supposed to go to Ships Cove and walk to Furneaux Lodge was extremely rainy and the track was muddy. I did not think we could walk the 12 miles in that condition. So they suggested that we start at Furneaux Lodge and walk to Punga Cove, and they changed the boat reservations in a couple of minutes. The day was very enjoyable, thanks to them.

Very trustworthy captain a boat trip. Well the nature is just brilliant. Views of Marlborough Sound are indescribable awesome!

The recent torrential rainfall in December has definitely taken its toll on the Queen Charlotte Track. There are many areas of land slip which has, very promptly, been rectified but the work has left loose rocks scattered over some areas. Parts are also muddy and slippery where rain water continues to run across the track. There are some precipitous drops from the high points of the track so if you are due to walk it proceed with great care. Both my wife and I (both very experienced walkers) stumbled and fell today. Nothing serious; just grazes and a sore ankle but we were lucky.

What a wonderful walk. Perfect weather and amazing scenery and beautiful lodges. We did the 4 day self guided walk plus an additional day kayaking (which unfortunately we were not able to do because of very high winds). The walk is very easy to do as self guided with clear signs throughout. The lodges were very well apportioned and the evening meals delicious. the daily packed lunches were just what was needed to sustain us through the day until dinner time! All in I would highly recommend the organisation of Wilderness Guides who managed everything seamlessly and were very friendly and helpful.

Great commentary on boat ride out to Furneau Lodge, as well as stunning views. Track wasn't quite as flat as I was expecting - luckily beautiful views kept me going!

The boat ride out was great, but most of all the views from the track were breath taking. Easy 11 ks of walking.
