Know up front that you will have a 3 hour bus ride to the first stop at Sachsenhausen on this tour! The bus stops at a small rest area on the highway mid-way through the drive. Once there we enjoyed the tour. Our guide Rob was very knowledgeable about the history and key events in Germany. He especially wanted us to understand the past and events that led to what happened during the war. Rob helped all of us order lunch at an authentic beer garden. Try the curry wurst. All in all we really enjoyed our day. Just be ready to deal with the long bus ride back.

Our guide Lee is too lazy went out of bus with us. He laid not even let driver stop bus in many places. Because weather was hot that day. So we missed many places that we supposed to see.

I really enjoyed this tour and particularly the tour guide. I felt like we hit all the major sites despite many street closures due to the Berlin Marathon. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared so many great insights with us about the history of the city and the its culture. This was a much better value than the comparable excursion on the cruise that cost twice as much.

Our guide was amazingly thorough in our really fast trip through the concentration camp and Berlin. It was more information than I could digest in one day, but that is all we had. A big bus picked us up from the ship and quietly took us to the concentration camp where we met our English speaking guide. There was so much to see and he made sure we stayed on track and on time. The only sllight glich we had is that he told us we would be stopping for a bathroom break on the way back to the ship and the driver never stopped. That was a long way!

This tour was profound and made all the better by our guide, Martin, who provided all the interesting facts about the camp. He was also very helpful in directing us on the train.

This was an extremely informative and educating tour. It began at the Sachenhausen concentration camp and then moved to downtown Berlin for a visit to checkpoint Charlie, the remnants of the wall, Hitler’s bunker site, Brandenburg gate and the holocaust memorial. Much of the subject matter is obviously not pleasant, but it needs to be learned and remembered. The tour guide, Nick Jackson, was an archeologist that has studied the history of the concentration camps and east and west Germany extensively. He helped excavate Hitler’s bunker and his name appears on the informational sign at the site. I have never had a more qualified and knowledge able guide. Great tour.
