Your 3.5-hour guided sightseeing tour will begin by a port pickup in Helsinki port, after which you will head to the city center, passing the magnificent Uspenski Cathedral on the way. You will then have a chance for a photo-stop at Senate square, where you can see the elegant Lutheran Church, and the interesting mix of the east, west and simply Finnish influences pervading the city.
You will drive down Mannerheim Street, the main boulevard of the city, passing the City Hall, Parliament house, and Finlandia hall, the convention center designed by famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. Continuing on you will see the Olympic stadium, used for the 1952 Olympic games and the Opera House. You will stop at Sibelius park for a unique photo opportunity of the monument of 527 steel pipes honoring the great Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, before continuing on to the famous Rock Church, a one-of-a-kind modern-day structure built entirely into bedrock and quarried stone.
Finally, head to the Central Railway Station - the heart of Helsinki - where the tour will end, allowing about 30 minutes of shopping. You will have the option to stay in the city for dinner or shopping or to return to the ship.

After spending 2 days on a leash in St. Petersburg, it was very refreshing to have some freedom on this tour to shop at the Outside Market. The Guide, was fantastic best one on 9 tours. We had booked a 3 hour tour, but were given an upgrade to the 5 hour tour which included a walking tour of the Open Air Museum which was the highlight of the tour. So glad we did the 5 hour tour instead as we would have missed it. Ice cream is a big hit everywhere in Northern Europe and it sure was tasty in Finland. The Rock Church is amazing to see. Loved the 5 hour tour, highly recommend it.

Wonderful! This was the best city tour and much less expensive that the excursion offered by the cruise ship. Our tour guide was very informative. We had a small group of about 16 and saw all the major sights.

Our guide was a transplant from Scotland who has lived in Helsinki for 23 years. His prospective was as an outsider who learned the culture. He knew a lot of history. We needed a tour with limited walking and the longest distance we had to walk was about two blocks. For those who wanted more walking, there was a 45 minute stop in the main square with shopping an easy walk. My husband used a walker with 8 wheels. The large wheel size was necessary in areas where we needed to walk over grass or cobblestones.

Not a lot to see and it is not worse the amount of money that you pay.
I recommend the Hop On Hop Off bus. They are at the pier when you arrive and you do not have to be looking for any guide. -
We felt that there was not enough content in this tour about the history of Helsinki and we passed several buildings and statues along the way but were not given any information about these. We stopped for 5 mins at the Olympic Park where there was a statue of Paavo Nurmi the guide discussd this but it would have been good to get off the bus to take photographs as I could not see it from my seat. The same thing happened at the Square she talked for minutes on the bus it would have been more helpful if she had talked to us outside as we could not see anything as there were several other coaches there.
