Overview

After the pick up from the pier, a short bus drive will take you to Moin warf.

    OMG!!! This was such a Fabulous Trip... Our tour guide Graybean and driver Eugene were the BEST..... we were concerned since the cruise lines always scare you that other tour operators booked off ship may get you back to late, etc.... we did not need to worry.... they were there to pick us up before time, and had us back in time to do some extra shopping if we wanted back at the pier. Graybean knew everything about Costa Rica, the people, religions, animals, plants, etc in an exciting and learning way which was Fun! He was always looking for different animals to insure to show us... even those hidden... he would stop and make sure we all had a chance to see. We saw so many different types of animals, plants, beach, and so much more. We had other friends on the ship that took the cruise tours and they did not see 1/2 as much as we did.

    Alberto made our trip a wonderful experience. He is so personal, attentive, knowledgeable, and in our opinion went above our expectations. We saw so much wildlife due to his amazing keen eyes. Alberto and our driver Eugene were simply the best.

    The canal tour and train ride took us past forests filled with sloths (4 found), birds and reptiles on branches. Our boat guide's "eagle eyes" spotted these out to us. the train ride through the banana fields, forest and along the coastline was equally enjoyable with groups of monkeys just feet from us in the trees. Of course, each trip is going to be different. The guides are very informative and offer information about the ecology, banana and chocolate production.

    This was a very exciting tour. Steven was an awesome tour guide. He was very knowledgable. We went to the by a banana plantation and learned how banana are grown and harvested. The rain forest was amazing. We seen lots of sloths, birds, and many different wildlife. The Tortugero canal boat ride was absolutely amazing. Lots of different wild life. The highlight of this tour that amazed us so much was the boat driver Charlie pulled the boat up under a sloth about 5-6 feet over our head. It was totally breath taking to be that close to a sloth and watch it move. This tour was the best highlights of our trip.

    We started out with a train ride viewing the many banana plantations, then took an eco cruise to see the wildlife. We saw a baby alligator, many birds and sloths. On the way back our guide showed us banana flowers (that grown into the bananas) and chocolate beans. Really interesting tour.
