We did this tour off of our cruise but booked it separately. The minibus was easy to find, just at the end of the pier, and it was immediately evident that the tour people were friendly and engaging. Kenton, our driver for the five-minute ride into the company's office in town (where we had to fill in passport details etc - don't forget to take these on the trip as you need them for the crossing into Canada) also turned out to be our driver/guide for the day and he was brilliant throughout - amenable, funny and extremely knowledgeable. We made loads of stops at incredible points of scenery, the dog sledding was nice experience (and the puppies so cute!) and we were lucky enough to see a brown bear right at the side of the road on our way back and Kenton got us close enough, whilst of course remaining safe inside the bus, to get some great pics - a definite highlight of the day and of our whole time in Alaska. After our 6-hour adventure, we were dropped in town and still had loads of time to explore the charm of Skagway before getting back on the boat. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this excursion and this company.

Coming ashore from cruise ship we’d booked “Gold panning, Sled Dogs & Exclusive White Pass Scenic Railway”. Every one of the pieces was very enjoyable & informative thanks to our character tour guide Klondike Mike! What a fun experience & we still had time leftover to explore Skagway’s restaurants, shops & historical offerings. Great place to visit!

Great alternative to White Pass Rail. Tour van does several stops, including photo Ops of wildlife ( black bear, moose, golden eagles, bald eagles, etc.), Also stopped at "Welcome to Alaska" sign, "Yukon" sign, several lakes, etc. We chose to add Sled Dog ride. Came with included lunch and beverages, petting zoo, and wild life museum. Highly recommended. Clay was a great driver/tour guide!

The guide, dogs, scenery, and overall experience exceeded our expectations. This is a must do tour!!

  • 01-Aug-2023

It’s a 5-hour tour consisting of 1.5 hours each way and 2 hours there. The scenery is amazing on the trip and we had a fantastic tour guide! The dog portion, however, is a tourist trap/ripoff. The whole event consists of piling 10 tourists into and open motorized (!) Jeep-like car and having strapped dogs run in front of it. I understand why they do it and it would be incredibly taxing for the dogs to pull people all day, but don’t advertise as such. You do get a tasty lunch and play with puppies!

The weather was beautiful and let us take so many fabulous pictures! Our guide kept us going with his lively commentary over this 6.5 hour excursion. I only gave this a 3 because the sled dog “ride” was actually in a motorized buggy. That being said, the ride would likely be the highlight if this tour was taken in the wintertime. On the flip side, the weather would be terrible in the winter, so you can’t have everything. Also, we were supposed to be able to hold the puppies, but that didn’t happen either. Oh well. This price was at least $100 less than what the cruise line wanted to charge for a similar tour, and the cruise line tour didn’t offer a “ride.”

Easy to find. Excellent tour guide/driver (Kenton) with great information. Enough time at stops to see and take pictures.

  • 21-Jun-2023

This excursion should be reworded. It’s 4 hrs of driving and looking at lakes and waterfalls with the best part being the shortest and not allowing for enough time, the Dog Sledding.

  • 15-Jun-2023

Definitely a must do! We were ages 5-70 and all had a great time. Noah was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable. The final destination was incredible with petting zoo and puppies plus experience of dog mushing. We got back to our ship with plenty of time.

The Caribou Crossing place is great to visit. I wish the sled ride was a little longer. We have so many questions but had no time to ask. The puppies and the other animals are so cute. My kids had a lot of fun. The food was more than plenty and also tasty. This should be a 2 hr stop, so we don't feel so rushed. Our bus driver/guide, Eric, was great. He is very knowledgeable, and we learned a lot from him. We had lots of fun on his bus.
