Know More about this tour

At the foot of Alaskas majestic White Pass, nestled beside a waterfall, youll find Liarsville Gold Rush Trail Camp, so named for the journalists who fabricated tall tales from this location when they were dispatched to Alaska during the Klondike Gold Rush. On this Skagway tour, discover what the Gold Rush was like as you explore Liarsville.

Your Gold Rush experience begins with an all-you-can-eat alfresco feast in the forest, including wild, Alaskan-caught salmon freshly grilled over an alder-wood fire. After your meal, mosey on over to the Gold Rush-era trail camp. Here, see a picturesque waterfall and authentic exhibits of Liarsville's past. Then head to the Hippodrome, where a cast of 'sourdoughs' and 'dance hall girls' will entertain you with a hilarious melodrama and a poem by the Bard of the North, Robert Service.

Next, learn the art of gold panning before you are set free in the Liarsville gold fields to pan on your own. You are guaranteed to find that precious metal that drove men and women wild with gold fever!

When you've made your fortune, you will have free time to wander through the camp and visit the Fancy Goods souvenir store, the historic bordello and the laundry tents to view the antiques and vintage clothing left behind by the miners and the ladies of the night. This is the perfect time to have your picture taken with one of the dance hall girls or the camp's popular mascot, an Alaskan malamute (a type of dog) named Denali. Complimentary cookies and apple cider are available.

It was a lot of fun. The bus driver was very informative on the drive up and back. The camp was where it actually was during the gold rush. We have a very good buffet lunch with grilled salmon. There was entertainment fitting the time period and then we got to learn how to pan for gold.

This excursion was pretty good it would likely have been better minus the rain and just my husband and myself in attendance, Food awesome, people friendly.

Thank you for the opportunity to share out experiences in Skagway. We had our 2 great-granddaughters with us. And the tour to Liarsville was the high light. We enjoyed every minute of it. The Alaska Salmon bake was so awesome and the girls and us enjoyed the gold panning so much. We will not quickly forget such a wonderful time. Thank you and keep it going.

We really enjoyed this activity after we found our bus. We forgot to ask what bus to watch for at the get on area so we were a little nervous that we might miss our connection. Our bus driver gave us a lot of local information on the way to the site. The meal was well organized. The cast of the show had a lot of energy and was entertaining.
