Both Roberto and Eduardo were very knowledgeable guides through the history and development of chocolate!

History and the present come together in the tasting of chocolate at the live demonstration. Our tour bus guide led us through the small history display. A lively factory guide demonstrated how chocolate was developed as a food. Angel truly enjoys his work! I wish we'd had more time to explore the shop and taste the chocolates. This is not a theme park in the way Hershey is, but they share the same spirit of fun and play and beauty in their surroundings.

This was a fun stop. We learned the history of chocolate harvesting and got to sample cacao similar to how it was originally prepared.

Angel gave us a wonderful tour at the Mayan Cacao Company in Cozumel. It was the first of 3 stops on a Carnival Cozumel by Land and Sea Tour. The whole family enjoyed tasting the ceremonial chocolate the way the Aztecs used to have it. The best part were the many chocolate drink options afterward. We tried the Chocolate Daquiri (the best), Chocolate Margarita (also good), and frozen hot chocolate (excellent non-alcoholic choice for kids or adults).

I found this activity noted in a blog about unique places to visit in Cozumel. We decided to book their first tour of the morning, which allowed us to be apart of a smaller group and resulted in a little shorter of a tour(No complaints here). We were treated to fresh corn tortillas with a chocolate mole sauce, a taste of the mouth watering Mayan chocolate made during the demonstration, and plenty of samples at the gift shop afterwards (some interesting flavors that are worth sampling!). The information from our guide Eduardo on both the chocolate process and the Mayan culture surrounding it was impressive, additionally had us laughing throughout the tour! Definitely would recommend for those who like chocolate or want a break from the beach/water activities.

Visited here on our cruise stop but, did not take a excursion tour. We booked a separate general admission tour on their website. And it was worth every penny. We got our own guide “ROBERTO”. He was awesome very patiently answered all the questions asked my my kids. Was very interactive and told lots of facts cool stories. The place itself is very nice. There are macaw perched on every corner of the tour. They are so cute. Loved the tortilla and the pumpkin seed dish. The store has lots of chocolates which we can sample and buy if needed. Also the chocolate making process shown by Patti was cool. All in all kids would love this place.

The chocolate here is amazing and is definitely worth a visit. My favorite was the white chocolate with rice.
