Know More about this tour

After leaving Paris in a comfortable air-conditioned coach, your day trip of the wine and castles of the Loire Valley starts at Chteau de Chambord. This beautiful chteau was built in 1519 by King Francis I, who used it as a hunting lodge. Admire its French Renaissance architecture, luxurious furniture, ornamental ceiling vaults and astounding staircases, and keep an eye out for frolicking deer and wild boar as you stroll along the castles lush grounds.

Next, youll stop to enjoy a delicious lunch at the Nitray Vineyards at Chteau de Nitray. This is not your average box lunch -- you'll enjoy a home-cooked lunch of fresh, local French ingredients and sample some of the regions best wines, including a crisp Sauvignon Blanc and a full-bodied Cabernet Franc. Your guide will take you through the wine-tasting, pointing out the different flavors. You will end your visit with a tour of the vineyard.

Your final stop is Chteau de Chenonceau, an elegant 16th-century castle that is sure to steal your heart at first sight with its smooth white stone and intricately painted wooden door. Entry lines can be quite long here, especially in the peak summer season, but dont worry! This tour includes skip-the-line access, so you dont have to wait in the long queue. The interior of the castle is well-maintained with original stone carvings, immense tapestries and an intimate chapel. Almost equal in beauty are the castle grounds and many gardens, planted by the famous ladies who owned the Ladies Chteau and gave it its name.

  • Very fun tour, the chateaus were incredible.

  • The guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the chateaus and region. The day was enjoyable and I would highly recommend this tour!

  • I should say up front that I am usually not a tour person...I prefer to do things on my own. However, I wanted to fit in a bit of the Loire Valley during a recent trip to Paris, and this tour made it easy to do in a short amount of time. I have to say this day trip was the highlight of our trip. Very well organized...buses were on time, clean, and comfortable. Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and told us a lot about the history of the area. I have dreamed for years of visiting Chenonceau and it did not disappoint. Chambord's architecture was fascinating. Lunch at Chateau Nitray was absolutely delicious and gave us time to get to know fellow travelers on our tour. The tour guide gave us a good mix of guided tour and the opportunity to strike out on our own a bit.

Overall a fantastic way to get a taste of the Loire and a delicious lunch that will inspire you to return and spend more time in region. I know we will!

  • Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and provided an excellent tour. The wine tastings were wonderful and the castles incredible!

  • It was a long trip - 12 hours but enjoyable. The tour guide was great. He gave us a lot of information, like: eating, etc. of Paris. He was very personal and came to each of us to find out what was our need. We really appreciate his help.

  • Guides made history very interesting indeed! Good tour.

  • Daniel from Ireland was our guide and he was fantastic!!

  • Tour was very good. However, unlike other winery tours we have experienced we were never shown the working winery, wine making processes, etc. that we have seen on other tours.

  • The chateaux were well worth the visit, the countryside beautiful, the guides informative and entertaining, people were friendly and welcoming. Great tour.

  • This tour was absolutely worth it. Our tour guide Laura was extremely knowledgeable and shared so much history about the castle we visited, the royalty that lived there and French history in general. She also spent some time afterwards answer questions from guests about places to eat, the metro, getting to the airport, etc. So kind! Chamboard and Chenoneau are truly beautiful and absolutely worth the drive. Lunch was charming and the wine tasting at lunch and Chenonceau was well worth it. It is a long day, but many rest stops are provided. I recommend bringing snacks, so you don't have to worry about making time to buy them instead of seeing the castles. Highly recommend.
