Know More about this tour

After leaving Paris in a comfortable air-conditioned coach, your day trip of the wine and castles of the Loire Valley starts at Château de Chambord. This beautiful château was built in 1519 by King Francis I, who used it as a hunting lodge. Admire its French Renaissance architecture, luxurious furniture, ornamental ceiling vaults and astounding staircases, and keep an eye out for frolicking deer and wild boar as you stroll along the castle’s lush grounds.

Next, you’ll stop to enjoy a delicious lunch at the Nitray Vineyards at Château de Nitray. This is not your average box lunch -- you'll enjoy a home-cooked lunch of fresh, local French ingredients and sample some of the region’s best wines, including a crisp Sauvignon Blanc and a full-bodied Cabernet Franc. Your guide will take you through the wine-tasting, pointing out the different flavors. You will end your visit with a tour of the vineyard.

Your final stop is Château de Chenonceau, an elegant 16th-century castle that is sure to steal your heart at first sight with its smooth white stone and intricately painted wooden door. Entry lines can be quite long here, especially in the peak summer season, but don’t worry! This tour includes skip-the-line access, so you don’t have to wait in the long queue. The interior of the castle is well-maintained with original stone carvings, immense tapestries and an intimate chapel. Almost equal in beauty are the castle grounds and many gardens, planted by the famous ladies who owned the Ladies’ Château and gave it its name.

These three sites were absolutely breathtaking. Chateaux de Chambord is by far the largest, and is said to be the inspiration for the castle in Beauty and the Beast. Whether that's true or not won't really matter once you get there first sight will take your breath away. Fer Ferret and Katrina were some of the best tour guides I had during my stay in Paris. Very, very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

The tour was amazing. Laura so exceptional so knowledgeable. She made us want to go back and learn some French history :). The food at the wine tasting was great.

The Chateaux tour was well worth doing. It was a long day out of Paris, but that's the only way to get there, right? Loved the tours and the vineyard.

I enjoy this tour. I normally not a red wine drinking but this experience allowed me to step outside my norm and give it a try. The history behind each Chateau was the another best part of this tour.

The weather was terrible on the day of our tour... However, our guides Daniel and Claire made the day totally enjoyable with their incredible knowledge on the history and the castles we visited along with their sense of humour! The castles were incredibly beautiful especially the Chateaux Chenonceau! Lunch was also enjoyable at Chateau de Nitray. If you have one day to tour outside Paris, I highly recommend this one!

What an incredible time with Daniel the irish-man. I learned more in a day with him touring the Chateaux's of the Loire Valley then 4 years of French class and history. Truly an incredible trip and an amazing time. Highly recommend this tour and these guys. Absolutely one of the most amazing experiences ever. It is a long day 12 hours, but you get ample time and three different Chateaux's, a fabulous country lunch on a vineyard/real french country farm, and beautiful scenery. A must do!

Nice day trip to beautiful chateaus. It was a treat to see the chateau that inspired the castle in Disney and #39;s Beauty and the Beast.

I enjoyed the trip but take issue with how it is presented on Viator on a number of issues:
    1. While the lunch provided was very tasty - a grilled chicken with stewed tomatoes and salad does not qualify as a gourmet lunch to me
    2. The tasting was very rudimentary and there was no Walk through the vineyards and learn about the winemaking process
    3. Our guide the Irish guy was a font of history and presented it in a very humorous and entertaining manner - my only complaint with him was that once he released us he gave us precious little time to explore the castles on our own, and we had to choose between going to the WC - or the gift shops. The gift shops lost out.

On the positive side the two Chateauxs are wonderful and seeing the countryside was very worthwhile.

    It was fascinating, something unforgettable!
Guide, David, told a lot of interesting stories about places in the tour, historical details, etc. Time in the way passed really quickly.
Beautiful castles, good dinner and wine tasting!
Group had enough time to explore, to make photos and to buy souvenirs.
    Amazing! Highly recommended.
