Know More about this tour

Your tour of historic Rome and the Vatican begins at the Colosseum, where you'll meet your guide and small-group of no more than 15. With your exclusive skip-the-line access, you'll head straight into the ancient world’s greatest sports arena. Hear harrowing tails of gladiators and martyrs, and learn why these men where almost mythical to Ancient Romans.

Next, continue to the nearby Roman Forum, a government plaza that once served as the beating heart of Rome’s empire. Rather than fight through the Forum's interior crowds, your guide will take you to a stunning overlook that includes views of both the Senate House and the Temple of the Vestal Virgins. Listen to the stories of war, politics, economics, and religion that shaped the ancient city while imaging how these ruins must have appeared 2,000 years ago.

Continue your walk through Ancient Rome with a visit inside the Pantheon, home to the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world. Marvel at its interior while learning how it was built and why it's inspired so many other iconic structures — from St Peter's Basilica to the U.S. Capitol Building.

Next, take a big step forward in history to enjoy a much-needed gelato break and stroll along streets made famous by films like Roman Holiday, stopping at the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona for a few photo ops.

Following a lunch break (own expense), you'll board a taxi or bus to the Vatican. Your local guide will accompany you to assure there aren't any transport issues. Once there, bypass the outdoor crowds and head directly inside with your all-inclusive ticket. A Vatican expert will be waiting to show you one of the world's greatest collections of art on a specially-curated highlights tour, sculpture galleries, and the world-famous Laocoön Group.

End your tour contemplating Michelangelo’s amazing frescoes in the Sistine Chapel, including The Last Judgement. Then choose between extending your stay in the Vatican Museums and chapel, or skipping the lines and entering St. Peter’s Basilica with your guide immediately. The latter option may save you up to an hour of waiting in line.

  • We had an excellent guide, therefore the tour was good and as expected. Thank you!

  • The guide was great very knowledgeable, perfect pace, would definitely recommend

  • This was an amazing tour! Our guide was very versed in history. When she spoke she painted a picture in your mind as to how life was like 2,500 years ago. She brought a notebook with her so that she could show you how the Colosseum would have looked. She had an art degree and was very knowledgeable about the artwork in the Vatican. It was hot and I was grateful to walk right up front and not have to wait three hours in line to get into the Vatican. On the way from the Colosseum to the Vatican she pointed out other historical buildings and gave history on those as well. This was excellent money spent!!!! Highly recommend this tour!

  • Only 4 stars due the REALLY hot summer day we decided to take the tour on! Not to mention, everything was very crowded this time of year. Aside from that and yes, we were aware of this beforehand, but happened to be in the area taking advantage of such an informative tour! this was a great way to see all the main attractions with an informative guide in the time allotted. Nothing better than walking the streets of Rome and seeing such beautiful sites. A stop at a gelato shop also had the group extra happy Would definitely recommend, especially if you're short on time and really want to experience the highlights of Rome.

  • The walking tour was great. Got to see a lot of Rome on foot. Guide in the morning for the walking tour was personable and knowledgeable. Unfortunately our guide had to leave the group for the afternoon portion of the tour Vatican. This tour wasn't as good. I would say that the guide had a background in art and spent, in my view, too much time talking about the sculptures. It got to the point that I just wanted to leave the group and move forward. We opted for the St. Peter's Basilica pass at the end of the tour. It was disappointing that the guide did not spend any time talking about the significance of the large door or what was inside the Basilica. If the guide had just spent a little less time describing the sculptures and a little more time on telling the group what they could expect in the Basilica, it would have been much better.

  • We couldn and #39;t have asked for a better guide them Dario. The tour was great, and he was knowledgeable and passionate. Be prepared for a lot of walking, and given the amount of things to see in one day you may not get as in depth a look at some things (esp Coliseum /Forum) but a great overview of Rome!

  • We knew it would be fast paced and crowded but we were disappointed with our guide Luigi whose accent was very difficult to understand, his commentary boring and his sense of organization typically Italian. He was very nice and Rome was fascinating but he needs more training. Rome deserves 1 week!

  • Our tour guide Gigi was superb, great character and very cool guy! He is so knowledgeable and shared so many amazing stories and even etymology during the tour. I definitey had an amazing day in rome thanks to him and everything was so smooth. He gave us great insights into Roman life and history.

  • Luigi was the best tour guide I've ever encountered! Ask him anything and he'll have the answer! Great tour, where comfortable shoes. Rome is amazing!

  • Good tour to get an overview of the main sites in Rome. if you are short on time, great option to pick. Knowledgeable and very personable guide who was prepared to answer questions, but kept the brisk pace up, all day.
