I worked in Athens on an Olympic Project as an Architect but due to career commitments my wife had never visited Athens to see all the excellent projects. My colleagues from 2004 did us proud and among other social things arranged a visit to the Acropolis Museum. It is a Tour de Force. The approach being a glass floor revealing layers of Athenian archaeology before you enter the new complex. Stunning!

Just how it is works. The tour bus arrived 15 minutes later. Then took us somewhere where we were redistributed into different groups and busses. 🤨. Followed by a city tour also prolonged by a 10 minute stop . 2 hours later when the tour started , around 10 hours in the Morning , we reached the Acropolis hill. Every not organized tourist already greeted us returning back from his trip.😬 We got our tickets: not skip the line tickets. What means that we queued; I was very lucky : the temperature this day was not as high as could be and the line was also not so long , some 10 minutes. We visited the site with some explanations. Then we walked to the Museum what is really around the corner - must say nice walk. The museum ticket was a group ticket. . I will not comment the guide , It must be a nerve-training to organize a full bus tourist in the crowd. My goal by joining the tour was reaching the sunny hill with a small group without queuing in the most possible early time plus getting some information from a local guide. What I bought. WhatI got was quite different. Next time I would choose walking from my hotel to Acropolis with a skip the line ticket holding some information from the internet in my hand. It is pity not having the possibility to buy an audio guide by the gate.🤨

This is a very high level guided tour of the Acropolis museum. Maybe it was the group size or the number of people in the group, but I noticed that we skipped various sections of the museum. Although when he did speak, my guide provided interesting facts, I felt like he did not show us enough exhibits and skipped sections of the museum.

This was a great tour. We were lucky to have an archeologist take us through. I am sure we would never have gotten as much information if we went on our own. I was glad that I was able to ask questions about what I was seeing.

An award winning museum, well worth a visit if you are interested in Ancient Greek history.

I have taken many tours with Viator and this was by far not the best. There was confusion on where to meet the guide, who was late. It was a really big group with a large number of Spanish speaking participants. The guide was constantly trying to coral everyone and wasted a lot of time doing so. Amazing museum but disappointing tour.
