Know More about this tour

A visit to the towers of Notre Dame is a must. Meet your guide at the cathedral of Notre Dame and admire its sumptuous façade, 43m wide and 69m high. Your guide will give you an introduction about the cathedral and the towers, and will then host you to the priority entrance. Then climb the 387 steps to get a close-up view of the cathedral’s roofs. The gargoyles, including monkey monsters, elephant, griffin and birds adorn the outer walls and keep watch on the streets of Paris below. The views of Paris below are spectacular. Look down to the Seine River, the bridges and rooftops of Ile de la Cite, and enjoy the sweeping views of Paris’ landmarks: the Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur, the Arc de Triomphe and gardens galore. You can imagine Victor Hugo’s fictional character, Quasimodo, in his novel The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, in the narrow stairway you’ll climb, and in the belfry ringing the magnificent bells.

  • This was a really good tour. Over 450 steps total in a spiral up and decent. Some areas very tight. We were supposed to have a head set and we waited for a while to get them however we never did. It was hard to hear her at the top. The guide was very nice and knowledgable.

  • This is a must do tour for spectacular views of Paris and ample photo ops on all sides. Beware: there are about 380 steps up to the top of the towers but they are broken down into about 3 different sections where you can rest and look out over the city. Valerie, our guide, was the very best. If you can request her, do it! She is very knowledgeable, very friendly, and has a good grasp of the English language to hel American travellers get the most out of their tour.

  • Guide was late. Showed up with a ripped bag of headsets - 1/2 didn't work. She was poorly dressed. Been on lots of tours and this was least impressive. You can do this on your own. Go to kiosks and buy fast pass. People followed us who were not in our group. Stood right in front of our guide for FREE!

  • Tour was not as advertised by Viator. We had an 11am tour scheduled, however when we arrived at the designated meeting spot there was no one to meet us. We called Viator and there was no answer. We finally reached the tour operator and they informed us that they didn't have an 11am tour only a 10am and 12pm. They allowed us to join the 12pm tour, however that tour we only saw the inside of the cathedral and we didn't skip the line - not that big a deal as the guide provided us some commentary as we waited.
We expected that we would then go to the tower - nope we were handed a ticket and told that we would have to go on our own. To do this we would have to get in the queue for a time to go up. By this time there were no more times available that day so we had to get up very early the next day and get a time using the queue system.
So what we ended up with was a partially guided tour of the cathedral which is free anyway. Do it yourself visit to the tower.
Definitely not worth what we paid, plus no support from Viator.

  • Amazing view. The length of the tour was perfect. You get to spend quite a bit of time going between the towers. Getting to see one of the bells was a bonus.

  • Great experience! It requires the ability to climb 440 spiral stone steps and it might be too closed in for some, but I recommend the tour! The guide was knowledgeable without being stuffy. Had a good ability to add humor. The bell tower was amazing and the view from the top was breathtaking. If the trek is tiring, people can wait about 3/4 the way up. Definitely worth the extra cost, especially when the weather is unexpectedly hot, as it was in late May. Couldn't imagine waiting 2 hrs in the heat.

  • Not impressed with Viator's contact page or complaint handling. Turned up for a tour in Paris on time but then realised may have booked wrong tour. After trying to ring local contact a number of times, got online and contacted Viator. Contact page very confusing. Eventually filled out a form and sent it to them. This was 25/5/17. As wasn't sure if this had gone anywhere checked with them by phone when we got back to Australia on the 30/5/17. Yes, the complaint was in the system. Rang again on the 2/5/17 and was told by operator they would contact Paris Tour Guides. Is now 7/5/17 and am still waiting. I have searched online a number of times for tour I thought I had booked and cannot find it. Would not have booked a tour to climb Notre Dame towers knowing my wife can't climb steps.

  • Good tour - skipped the long, long line.

  • Great tour and guide. Beautiful views. Lots of stairs but taken in stages so makes it easier. Must stop in and see the inside of the church as well.

  • Just as advertised, you walk past the long line and go right in. The tour guides spoke English and French and were great!
