Know More about this tour

Meet your tour at the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel at 2pm. Your tour begins at the controversial Pyramid, which is located next to the Tuileries Garden, believed to house a ghost that has haunted the grounds for hundreds of years.

Walk passed the long lines into the museum with your guide, once inside, head back in time to the period when the Louvre was a fortress as you walk through the shadows of the Medieval Foundations. Soon you will come face to face with the Great Sphinx of Tanis whose riddles have puzzled for thousands of years. Throughout your tour you will walk past thousands of paintings, sculptures and artifacts and hear scandalous tales.

Your tour has been carefully planned to stop at over a dozen of the worlds most well-known works of art, all of which hold secrets and gossip that brings it all to life in a new way you never imagined. The tour concludes at the most famous lady of them all, Mona Lisa. • A fabulous tour with an excellent guide! Thank you so much, Sebastian! Special thanks for coming in early to take us on a private tour when our original tour was rescheduled to a time that we couldn't make. And thank you to Linda for being so patient and understanding, for organising everything to suit us and for coming to the meeting point to make sure that we found Sebastian. We couldn't have asked for better service! We'd been to the Louvre for a fleeting visit once before and seen a few of the artworks we visited on this tour, but Sebastian's stories made them and all of the other masterpieces we saw so much more interesting! Our favourites were the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace and the Mona Lisa. The crown jewels were pretty amazing too. The only downside was the crowds - we were there on a Monday when many other museums are closed. Thank goodness we had Sebastian to guide us through the sea of people!

  • Our tour guide, Sebastian, made the trip! Very enthusiastic about the art pieces and truly made it entertaining. The art covered on the tour was interesting to see. Would recommend this tour to start your day at the Louvre because it also made for a good walk through to help you retrace your steps and view other things without getting lost after the tour. We felt like we learned things about pieces that you could not get from other tours. Again, we strongly recommend Sebastian as a guide! He is great.

  • There were just the two of us. We had both been to the Louvre before and wanted something more in depth. Tina, an art historian, tailored our tour to us and it was fabulous! I would highly recommend this tour to any age and experience level.

  • We loved this tour! Whether you are already familiar with the art and are looking for a new way to engage with it, or if you perhaps are less of an art aficionado who has been taken to the Louvre with your travel companions, this tour will help you connect with the art in a whole new way. You can't go wrong with a skip-the-line tour that makes sure you see the must sees, and having a bit of gossip along the way added a unique flavor. We learned a lot while having fun.
