Know More about this tour

Meet your guide in front of the Caf Vaticano directly across from the Vatican Museums for your small-group tour. Discover some of the most famous paintings and sculptures from western civilization and listen to amusing anecdotes about the former popes and artists represented in the museums. With a small-group tour of maximum of six people, easily maneuver through the crowded museums at a comfortable pace. With the personalized attention of your guide, ask all the questions you like.

Skip-the-line to access the Vatican Museums and begin your small-group tour promptly. After a view of the terrace over the Vatican gardens, make your way across the beautiful early Renaissance courtyard to admire Hadrian's Pinecone, and then to the modern art piece of Arnaldo Pomodoro. As your knowledgeable guide presents interesting facts and stories, you will then head to the magnificent Octagonal Courtyard which is one of the most remarkable collections of Roman and Greek artifacts. Admire the famous Belvedere Torso, learn about the mystery of the Laocoon Priest of Troy, and visit the Muses Room. After a short stop for wonderful pictures, continue through the Round Room and the Greek Cross Room.

Walk up the stairs and through the beautiful galleries to admire an abundance of candelabra, tapestries, and maps. Then head to the Julius II apartments and see the grandeur and the magnificent details of the Raphael Rooms.

Next, learn of Michelangelo's masterpiece from your guide before you enter through a tiny door to admire the majestic Sistine Chapel. Take in its grandeur in contemplative silence. The tour will end with a visit to St. Peters Basilica where you will access the church directly through a VIP passage to skip the long line. Enjoy the awe-inspiring visit and be amazed at the size of the beautifully adorned Basilica.

When you book a small group tour, you are guaranteed one tour guide per group of 6 people. Please bear in mind though that in order to accommodate traveling families and friends, we do on rare occasion make the exception of adding an additional one to two guests in order not to split groups who are traveling together. On that same note, you may find yourself on tour with less than six people. As we accept bookings in multiples of six, math doesnt always work in our favor to help accommodate individual travelers and their families when on the same tour, so we hope you understand and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Massimo was a wonderful guide that showed my fiance and I. He was the perfect blend of tour personalization and keeping the tour load manageable. There were many hidden aspects of the museums that the other tour guides were not even aware of that were expertly guided. Thanks again Massimo!

We went straight to the front of an endless line and through security in less than 5 minutes. The Vatican was busy as it was closing early for new year but our guide efficiently took us to all the relevant areas giving us a interesting and knowledgeable commentary. Saint Peter’s Basillica was the highlight. I highly recommend this tour and would suggest that without a guide you would need a whole day to try to navigate through this massive facility.

Fantastic, very, very good. Our guide score 11 of 10, Massimo knows all about the Vatican, gives details that make the visit wonderful and holds our attention on details that surely without him we would never know, of course, recommend and I will return again with the rest of the family for this tour.

Our tour guy was Alex and he was fantastic! From the moment he welcomed us outside he was warm, friendly knowledgeable and went out of his way to ensure that we got the best out of this tour. We ended up being a real small group that consist of me and my husband and a mom and son. Being such a small made it felt like we are getting a personal tour through the Vatican. From the art work, to the Sistine Chapel to St, Peters Basilica and Vatican City it was just breathtaking! By far one of our favorite and fun memories of our time in Italy! Highly recommend this tour.

Dario was an excellent guide---so very knowledgeable, truly an expert! He delivered his information as we were viewing or progressing to the next site. The whisper hearing device allowed us to hear all he had to say. He paused so we could enjoy the site and comprehend. I was with a friend wino had ambulatory issues and Dario was very considerate of her slower pace. This is a marvelous tour and in depth with Mario! I have experienced a similar tour twice prior and this was my favorite!
We were on the 10 AM tour and I recommend the earlier, the better for the crowds in late September. Livitaly/Viatour--great job!!!!

Our tour guide, Giulia, was magnificent. Quite knowledgeable, very personable. I had some physical issues which caused me to need to rest periodically. She was very caring and accommodating for my needs. the tour opened our eyes to the beauty and reverence of the Sistine and Basilica. Pictures in a book do not do justice to seeing this in person.

Linda was our guide for the small group tour of the Vatican. She was amazing with all her knowledge and insights. She guided us through throngs of people and made it look seamless. We had time to take pictures ask questions and enjoy the experience.

We had a good time touring the Vatican. Our guide Marie was wonderful. It was hard to hear at times due to the immense crowds but I guess that can be expected when you’re touring such an amazing place as the Vatican.

Alessia, our guide from Livitaly as the tour operator, was superb as a tour guide. Knowledgeable, friendly, and exceptional in every way. The small group tour (there were only two of us) was a real plus. We wish Alessia could have been our guide for our entire trip

We actually ended up being the only two people with a guide, the rest did not showed up. Our guide Tania was knowledgeable, eloquent and very accommodating. We saw all we wanted to see with riveting commentary.
