Know More about this tour

Your comprehensive introduction to Venice begins near St Mark’s Square with a two-hour guided walking tour highlighting the city’s important monuments. Follow your guide to the famous piazza and learn the history behind its landmarks, including the Byzantine architectural heritage of St Mark's Basilica and the adjoining prisons of Doge's Palace.

Visit the famed basilica of St Mark's with skip-the-line admission, without having to stand in long queues! At the Scuola di San Marco, learn about the medieval trade schools of Venice that provided the foundations for the great mercantile empire of Venice.

Leaving the crowds behind, enter a labyrinth of narrow passageways, alleys and meandering canals punctuated by delicate bridges as you further explore the enchanting city with your guide. Explore the lively Campo Santa Maria Formosa with its outstanding Gothic palaces, and view Marco Polo's house as well as an old merchant's warehouse and the city’s most beautiful wellhead.

Complete your walking tour near the Rialto Bridge, and enjoy free time before your boat tour of the Grand Canal begins. (Depending on the season, your boat tour will start between 4:30pm and 5:30pm. Your guide will provide details of the exact meeting location and time after the walking tour.)

Next, enjoy a relaxing one-hour cruise along the Grand Canal of Venice via water taxi. Along the way you will learn the history of the stunning palaces and churches that line the famous canal, as well as hear anecdotes about the famous people who have resided on Venice's most important ‘street.’ During the second half of your boat tour, discover the minor canals of Venice and soak up the romantic atmosphere.

Please note: St Mark's Basilica is free of charge to enter and we guarantee that you'll skip any long lines as part of this tour. Venice is subject to flash floods and occasionally the Basilica is closed to the public (without notice) because of high water or festivities.

  • We loved our guides! The walking tour was great and we learned a lot about the city. We then had time to go find lunch and explore a bit on our own before the 2nd half of the tour. From the boat, it was great. Would recommend for people who only have a day or 2 in Venice. You really learn about the city in a day this way!

  • Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and her English was perfect. The tour was comprehensive. You really dont need any other guided tour through Venice. It was easy to keep up with the guide despite crowds and heat in August.

  • This was a very nice tour. Two hour walk in the morning and one hour boat in the afternoon. Our walking guide was local Venetian and so knowledgeable. The walk was lovely don't forget cover up for the church but the boat ride was even nicer. There was absolutely no need to pay the exorbitant 100 Euro for a 40 minute gondola ride when you had this tour unless you just wanted the nostalgia. The boat went almost everywhere the gondola would and then some because it is big enough to handle the grand canal. Very enjoyable.

  • A great walking tour, but our guide was excellent.
Unfortunately, our boat guide was very boring and monotone and didn't even look at any of the items she was looking at.

  • Skip the line really worked and will help you enjoy your tour.

  • Brilliant day. Well organised. Boat tour was well worth doing.

  • The tour was amazing! After the visit of St. Marco Cathedral, we went to the east side of Venice where you don't see crowd but only history! Our tour guide is very knowledgeable and awesome! The boat tour was also worth it!

  • Good tours - the both guides were very professional and knew their stuff Good way to understand the city

  • Great tour. Walking tour was very interesting and brought us to places that would have difficult to go on our own. The weakness was the visit of the St Mark Basilica. Too crowded, too quick. Nothing the tour could have have to follow the flow. The best part was the water taxi ride. Excellent 1 hour tour with an excellent guide.

  • A truly wonderful experience which showcased much of Venice.
