Know More about this tour

Your comprehensive introduction to Venice begins near St Marks Square with a two-hour guided walking tour highlighting the citys important monuments. Follow your guide to the famous piazza and learn the history behind its landmarks, including the Byzantine architectural heritage of St Mark's Basilica and the adjoining prisons of Doge's Palace.

Visit the famed basilica of St Mark's with skip-the-line admission, without having to stand in long queues! At the Scuola di San Marco, learn about the medieval trade schools of Venice that provided the foundations for the great mercantile empire of Venice.

Leaving the crowds behind, enter a labyrinth of narrow passageways, alleys and meandering canals punctuated by delicate bridges as you further explore the enchanting city with your guide. Explore the lively Campo Santa Maria Formosa with its outstanding Gothic palaces, and view Marco Polo's house as well as an old merchant's warehouse and the citys most beautiful wellhead.

Complete your walking tour near the Rialto Bridge, and enjoy free time before your boat tour of the Grand Canal begins. (Depending on the season, your boat tour will start between 4:30pm and 5:30pm. Your guide will provide details of the exact meeting location and time after the walking tour.)

Next, enjoy a relaxing one-hour cruise along the Grand Canal of Venice via water taxi. Along the way you will learn the history of the stunning palaces and churches that line the famous canal, as well as hear anecdotes about the famous people who have resided on Venice's most important street. During the second half of your boat tour, discover the minor canals of Venice and soak up the romantic atmosphere.

  • Two 50 somethings from the UK on a long weekend, we did this trip on our first morning in Venice, and found it very informative and useful information for future exploring
They supplied ear pieces to allow you to clearly hear the tour guide which was very useful
    Small group
Please note that on the walking tour it only includes entry to the Basilica di San Marco

  • It was fantastic, the sun came out right as we began and our guide was awesome!

  • Tour guide was excellent, very informative.

  • Wonderful tour guide! Funny and knowledgeable, great anecdotes. Great to do on your 1st day as I did, gives you some bearings for the remainder of your time in venice. Was nice to walk around the bastillica with a guide. Boat trip was a great way to see the grand canal. Break at rialto inbetween.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour so interesting, our tour guide was fantastic so passionate and informative. The boat tour later on in the day was lovely, only 5 of us on our allocated time slot. We were able to sit outside and take in the beautiful scenery of the canals. Great tour guide again!!

  • Really engaging tour of Venice by foot and by boat! Tour guides were nice and prepared. The walking tour lasts 2 hours, we did it in the morning. The tour by boat was amazing, it lasted an hour. It's worth going!!

  • Fred was our guide for the walking part of the day and she was amazing. She inspired us to lose ourselves in Venice. After the tour we never took the water bus again. We walked everywhere and loved it! Christina was our guide for the boat ride. The boat ride gave us a different perspective of Venice. Forget the gondola ride, this was amazing.

  • We had a lovely day, despite the weather. It was overcast and cold no surprise for us and it was still a beautiful day. Our guide, through the city, was very knowledgeable and I loved the head sets, so even when we were in a crowd and with our 3 kids, I could still hear what our guide was sharing. We then went on a boat tour not gondola on the Grand Canal. Again, lovely guide who was great with our 3 yo and boat was perfect, part open, part covered so it it had rained or you got too cold you could tuck under. I would recommend this tour again.

  • Frederika was an amazing tour guide, full of wit and humor, an absolute treat. The tour itself was lovely. My one suggestion was this tour was called skip the line yet we still had to stand in line for the church in St. Marks square... kinda misleading if you ask me, I'm not pleased with Viators lies. When I asked Frederika she informed me the skipping of the line only happens during the summer.

  • Walking tour was worth it and found a great restaurant! Boat tour is a must. Have to see Venice on the water. Extra fun when anothe boat rammed us!!!
