Know More about this tour

A truly memorable day out you will be collected from your hotel in Rome and driven to Pompeii, Positano and the Amalfi Coast in a comfortable minivan.

Avery helpfulEnglish-speaking driver plus top-rated local guide will ensure that you make the most of your time in Pompeii. It is impossible to walk around all of Pompeii in a day but with our carefully-planned route we will ensure youll see the very best of this amazing historical site and get a real flavour of Pompeii before the volcanic eruption. With the backdrop of the still active Mount vesuvius you will see the Theatre, the Forum, the Pleasure Houses, the Thermal Baths, the Mills and the Gladiators' Barracks. You will walk the ancient streets and see the carriage tracks from 2000 years ago, see some of the original 'fast food' outlets and wonder at the many plaster casts of those who died in the eruption. There is truly something for everyone!

After your tour of Pompeii we stop for a quick 'cappuccino' and to take the opportunity to purchase a memento from one of the many local artisan stalls. Back onto the van and we head along the Amalfi Coast towards Positano. Dont forget your camera! On the way we stop at one of the most picturesque viewpoints on the coast for a photo opportunity overlooking the magnificent azure waters of the Bay of Naples.

We head along the winding coast road towards Positano, stopping along the way so that you can take photos of the stunning views. In Positano you will be charmed by the white fishermans houses overlooking the clear blue water and the delightful alleyways where you will find beautiful ceramics shops and numerous little boutiques. But not only will the sights stay with you forever, the fragrance of the flowers and fruit trees will linger in your memory long after you leave this bewitching village.

In the late afternoon we head back to Rome with dreams of Pompeii, Positano and the stunning Amalfi Coast!

This tour was okay, but not as good as the last one I'd taken. Our driver was charming and very personable. We made good timing throughout the day. The tour guide in Pompeii could have been better though. Our tour did not include hearing devices so it was hard to hear at times. The tour guide spoke to us like we were 4th graders. The tour guide was very nice and pleasant but she should consider recording herself to improve her delivery. She repeated herself multiple times trying to make a point. I'd visited two years ago and I think there was a lot of information that was missed in this tour. To me the best way to do a tour is to point out something of note and then provide two or three notes and then move on. In this way you can cover a lot of ground and learn a lot.
